It's crazy how Star Wars Chrome jumps in price every year. A lot of collector's are getting priced out of the card collecting hobby. ☹️
I remember buying up 2021 galaxy chrome for $100 until the pump and dumps occurred
When I went on topps site and saw they wanted 300 a box. I was like for chrome? I remember when topps chrome was cheap and always loved chrome for football. Now like with everything I see now it’s overpriced and you are far from making your money back. It would be cheaper to buy the cards you want.

Card companies just steal the video game lootbox business model. They would rather sell to the fewer obsessive people with bigger budgets than to a larger customer base that will exercise caution with spending habits.
I discovered 2021 Galaxy after it had already exploded in price, but watching videos of it was what ignited my interest in Star Wars cards. Since then I'd been eagerly waiting for the next Galaxy set so I could buy it at an affordable price. I'm still thinking about buying one box but I don't want to reward greedy business practices. I expected $150-$200, but $300+ is a very hard pill to swallow. At any rate, the cards are gorgeous and I can still enjoy watching you open them.
Ya it sucks they didnt use our names this year. It’s great to see my art on a shinny card stock, refractor etc. to bad I can’t afford to buy my own cards lol

I love and hated it. I caught you do the ones last year and your criticism were right on as far as the cost (!), the lack of artist noted, the missing parts, and the missing community needed. I think your thoughts make it unavailable to collect and makes me wanted more of last year. I have seen card shops closing recently. But come on, $120 to $350-$400 per is crazy!!! Thank you.
I'm disappointed that Topps would omit the artist information on the cards. The first 10 cards are from the original Star Wars Galaxy set. Since the artist signed his work on the images, Topps actually airbrushed it out of most of the cards but there are a couple that you can still partially read. The lack of sketch cards for the second consecutive release leads me to believe that Topps is no longer going to have them in sets. The sketch variations are most likely just a Photoshop de-coloring of the cards. Glad you didn't pull any of those base card variation redemption's in this case. The centering on the majority of the cards are terrible and I just have the feeling that similar to Chrome Update baseball this product was rushed out the door to clean the slate of 2022 products. The artist who did the first 10 sketches was Joe Smith who I believe passed away many years ago,
The price increase from last years set is disgusting
I have not bought Star Wars but I've opened 2022 Baseball and Garbage Pail Kids Chrome and the quality control is the worst I've seen in years, none of my pulled parallels were grade worthy, talk about wasting money

Mixed feeling on this one. I absolutely loved the 2021 set, but no artist names, an inferior looking design (imo), and a insane price point.
Kind of a let down from Topps for me.

This is my first Star Wars topps set I’ve opened and yeah the price seems crazy. But, I enjoy the heck out of these cards so far. I’m hoping to get lucky for tomorrows livestream!

I think Topps should do a sketch card where they give the artist a blank silver chrome and a paint pen.

1:12:44 I was curious about your point will these singles hold up in value so I looked up this Vader and the alpha 1/99 sold for $100 in the past few weeks and several others sold around $80-$100.. so I guess they are holding up prices ok for now... my bigger concern would be what happens if Topps puts this set out every single year and people just lose interest in chasing colors/parallels. Happened to me already. Autographs are the only thing keeping me interested but even those fall victim to overproduction especially when they put the same actors in every single Topps set.

I bought 2 single packs from whatnot and hit the auto ! Spent 25 each plus tax and shipping but still way better than the whole box it was a Cham syndulla auto to 5 ! I want a box for the pc cus I always get starwars if I like the art but yeah I saw one box go for 450! Way too much smh
If you can't get the artist name from contacting Topps, It might work to photograph or scan the image and do a reverse image look-up on the internet from Google, Tineye, or Yandex.
Good idea. I do my best to make my name legible on the sketch cards I do.

Every single base refractor, in three boxes had centering worse than 80/20. Seriously insane, why would they ship stuff like this?

Left a like on the video because Ally opening but wish I could send Topps a dislike for a disappointing showing. They kind of screwed themselves over using the border when they have centering issues. Even if I actively collected and could afford the set I don't know if I could justify the price for low QC, no artist credit, and no cards they claim are promised per box, for me there would be no point in trying to collect a set that would be difficult to find undamaged cards. That said, the art in this set is really awesome and thank you for showing us a glimpse behind the curtain 😂
Ok, the amount of reprints is annoying. The centring of a lot of the cards is diabolical. but the art on offer in my opinion is better than last year. Shame, shame, shame on the price tag, it's stomach churning! Ally, you are the best as per usual.

Removing artists names and a triple price increase is straight bullshit. I’m an artist and will never work for Topps with these type of practices.

The cards look dope but omitting the artists names, having very few sketches and less parallels.... boxes needed to be closer to 100 like last year. Even 200 would have been more understandable

Cards are okay, find the shine in the card makes some too dark, not really a fan of cartoon cards. Price wise, not worth it too me.

Ally, the art you like of the Leia Boushh is somewhat unfortunate. It was done by an artist formerly featured in Magic the Gathering card art for 2 decades, Terese Nielson. It is honestly a shame Topps still uses her art. I was a massive fan of hers and even bought a signed and numbered print of her new Force of Will art from Eternal Masters, as she did the original art for Force of Will and then got to update the image when it was selected to be reprinted. I don't even display it anymore in my home because I just can't support her any longer. In 2018 she went all the way down the Q-Anon rabbit hole, started liking openly racist and anti-Semitic tweets, and began openly espousing really harmful anti-Trans TERF ideology. I just can't get down with any of that and neither could Wizards of the Coast. I am not trying to be "political," instead I am just bringing it up because you stated that you really liked the card art and I couldn't mention her name without being concerned that it could possibly ever be seen as embracing or promoting her harmful beliefs.

This was the first video I had to stop watching. I understand how disappointing it is to not know the artist but to say it 20 times in 5 minutes is hard to listen to.
That was a massively disappointing case. The lone sketchcard was a total joke.
