    Hi Robin. I have fine hair too. In one of your videos you stated that you did not know if you can use product such as thickening lotion and clay after the scalp treatment has dried naturally - which takes ages. Did you find out as I can't see the answer anywhere?
    If not do you skip the scalp treatment when adding product and styling and just use the shampoo and conditioner?

    For the working out question, IF someone has MPB in their bloodline and suffering from it themselves, elevating their testosterone levels (with heavy weights for example) can contribute to slightly faster conversion of test to DHT. It’s not like putting a turbo on hairloss but with more testosterone, there is more to be converted to DHT.

    16:55 strongly disagree with comment that doctors aren't there to save your hair. Not true. If you see a dermatologist - whose speciality includes hair and nails. They will investigate and give you an appropriate diagnosis i.e. androgenic alopecia, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, traction alopecia and recommend treatment based on evidence.

    Personal experience. Used nioxin (2) for 4 months. I have pretty good hair, but but for a small patch (1’’ or so at the front into hairline) and it did literally nothing. There are ZERO ingredients in nioxin that have been clinically associated with a reduction in hair fall 🤷🏼‍♂️ I won’t be buying again. Check out pumpkin seed oil (taking orally and applying topically). I also mix mentha piprita (can’t spell) with my shampoo. With these I have seen the best results which far outweigh the nioxin products. Also the nioxin have no usage instructions, which was weird. It didn’t say anything about time to leave on etc.

    • @ManForHimself
      @ManForHimself  Před 5 lety

      @BreakTheRules2011 Před 5 lety

      Robin James - Hi Robin, like I said, just my own personal experience. Products like this do then to have mixed reviews due to differences in hair and skin type, so I’m not totally cynical. Super happy that it worked for you, unfortunately it didn’t for me. However, I do genuinely believe that there are MUCH cheaper ways for people to stimulate blood flow to their own scalp, such as adding a high quality peppermint oil to an oil rich, sulphate free shampoo and/or conditioner (£3 on amazon) and I really didn’t agree with her comments about sulphates not being harmful. In my opinion they are too harsh on the hair, especially the one she references. The shampoo completely strips the hair of all oils to the point of making it course and squeaky. Definitely not good. The conditioner does alleviate this a little, but i regularly found my hair requiring additional conditioner to help with the dryness.

    • @ivankb4412
      @ivankb4412 Před 4 lety

      Alistair Page generally if you’re worried about sulphates drying your scalp out can just wash your hair less I.e once or twice a week. Also using a leave in conditioner like garnier hair food for dry/normal hair an hour before you wash. But you’re right using foods high in zinc and lysine helps lower DHT levels which is the main cause of hair thinning in men.

    Hi, I recently started using the Nioxin Series 1 hair kit, and the products provide impressive results. At the same time, not everything is shiny. I noticed a side effect that particularly bothers me! Since using it, I have had a sharp and significant decrease in libido. It is true that the use is on the scalp, but when washing with water, the ingredients run all over the body. Is this phenomenon familiar to you? Is this shampoo approved by the FDA? If my sexual function does not return to its natural state, expect an unprecedented lawsuit.
