My grandfather and father were born in Kanpur,Uttar Pradesh and they didn't forget their hometown abd childhood till last breath. I was raised listening to my father's childhood memories in India.
Great story. Govt of India and Pakistan should issue 10 year golden visa to anyone who was born before 1947. They should be able to come and visit as much as they like. Not many people are left.

Good memories indeed . I had listened from childhood that Muslims migrants were badly tortured many led to death by Hindus and Sikhs , here I came to know the remaining part of partition . It means there was no distinction of religion , every one was equally exposed to violence, the people with sheer luck escaped safely to the destination destination .

Similar story here also, my mom's side relatives still call themselves as " Hazarewals " while my dad's side of relatives still call their clan as "Pothohari Biradri" . They have still somewhat attachment from their pre partition roots.
Hindus and Muslim's didn't drink from the same cup, still don't in many parts of India.
There was, and still is massive discrimination between groups, especially in India, people have a habit of looking at social history through rose tintin goggles. Please don't.
