Hi guys thanks for the regular quality content it makes my day whilst driving at work 💪🏽 Question for next time: I’ve always wondered what exactly happened when Jay tore his bicep? How it could have been avoided and the process by which he eventually overcame the injury to come back? I remember Jay saying how he’s always stayed injury free other than this event so I’m interested to hear his take on that experience.
Everytime time I think of strongman I think of Brian Shaw. Not just what he's achieved in the sport but what he's done to give back to the sport by making a name for himself and making his own comp and making he's companies no other strongman in history has ever done that and now other strongman are following what Brian is doing so to me Brian Shaw is the GOAT over anyone

There are 'short' athletes, Americas own Rob Kearney is about 5ft10, hes coming back to full form after a tricep detachment so I'd expect him to compete at next years groups, he was also the American log lift record holder until recently. You had Gary Taylor who was under 6ft who won the WSM, the Lalas brothers, one of which won the Arnolds are about 5ft10.
The current organizer of Giants Live and WSM, Daren Sadler was about 5ft8 and competed in multiple WSM events

My recent decline bench two days ago heaviest I went ... ? wuz like 160 for some reps and last set of decline was a pump burnout set of over 135x15 I have many injuries at age 49 I'm just gracious I can still train

A bit of wrong info on worlds strongest man. Its 5 groups of 6 athletes, the winner of each group goes to the final. 2nd and 3rd place in each group compete in whats called a stone off, which is an elimination style event to determine which goes through to the final. The final is 10 athletes.
I doubt Brian Shaw has needed to qualify for WSM for years lol, certain special athletes will always be invited, but for those that do need to qualify there are a few dedicated events where getting on the podium guarantees entry to 1 of the groups for WSM or at minimum a reserve place.
Of the 10 finalists this year 2 of them(1 won their group) were from a dedicated qualifying event called Official Strongman Games and you get selected to compete at this event from online videos of you performing certain lifts at certain weights, which I think is a pretty cool way to do it and opens the door, like it did this year

I have had several surgeries. Elbow, hemorrhoids, tore both quads recently etc.
Manager Matt sounds strong physically but he sounds mentally weak. He makes excuses for his eating. I’m 6’4 and 270 since my surgery and I don’t feel the best. I can’t imagine being shorter and being this weight. Hopefully he can’t get some mental discipline and get himself in check.

I enjoy the podcast. Been a fan of Jay's since forever. In this episode I guess I didn't appreciate Matt saying Jay could not stand next to the current talent. I'm sure it's true, I know you guys are bros, as a Jay fan I just found it disrespectful to the champ.
