  • I can't tell you how much of a game changer these popup totems from Colorkey have been for my lighting setup. I was always a tripod guy until these came into my life. Watch and see how easy they are to put together, and even leave assembled. Popup totems are amazing for lighting or even your speakers.

      They don't just look like them...they are them. Down to the kit that comes with them (see the small extension for mounting on top of the totem?). With the exception of the folding base - I think that's new?
      I don't know that Rockville are the manufacturers, but these are definitely the exact same product.

    Have both heights
    I keep the small one assembled with out the baseplate. So it is about 2 min to finish.
    Tip: keep speaker nipple in top plate facing inside. So if I need it. It’s right there for my speakers.

    SO much nicer than using trussing!

  • @MBrulla
    @MBrulla Před 19 dny

    You can also use a truss bag to carry two of them half assembled. Saves quite a bit of time and protects them. Just stick some foam inside to protect them from one another (as well as from putting excess wear on the welds).
    Makes it very easy to carry two of them at once. I do this with my Rockvilles, though I don't use totems often anymore.

    I have the color keys. I have two sets (one is now broken). They take a good amount of time to set up. For a while I left one set constructed instead of taking them down each time. This ended up back firing because one stand’s welds broke off the plate. I just use the totems. They are quicker to set up than the color keys IMO.

      @@JamookieI know I don’t speak or write English very well, but the thing that I don’t like is the title of the video which is misleading DJ’s believe me this stands are very bad, first this are metal and they rust very easy, second truss will never died because you can find different ways to used it, plus truss is in a different level and also truss is aluminum which will never rust!

  • @ladyapollia2

    My truss unit barely leaves home anymore because it requires at least two people to move and takes up so much space in my vehicle and at the venue. Where I am dedicated space for the DJ always winds up being super tight. I have two sets of totems and they have made a huge difference with my set ups.
    My one question, Joe, is do you weigh down the bases for more stability? I park my Chauvet Intimidators on top and gotta be honest they swing a little wild sometimes! Thanks for an epic video, your content is always incredibly helpful. 👍

    I’ve got Chauvet 375ZX’s… these base plates seem a little narrow. I want NO rocking back and forth when my lights are running. Plus, I need them to be 6 1/2 feet tall.

  • @djjerryg_soundexpressenter5874
