“You kill all the big groups and you die...you feel so dynamic” I got called out xD
😂😂😂
Perfect advice. How I hate the shallowness of blitz play. Players have told me they actually want to avoid thinking. Madness. Thanks for your advice.
I'm a chess player and learned alot by this video, thanks Y.
even though you can't review my games, you are still my teacher -
thank you a lot for your videos !
also, i am happy you recovered well from your isolation !
Hello we are so happy to see you again!
First video I see from you, after 1 minute I already love you. I like your energy. Thank you !
Tip #5 is the most important to me. Everything falls apart without motivation. When improving gets harder, it's easy to lose motivation. In my case, AI helped a lot because it showed me there was lots of room for improvement. Reviewing a serious game with LZ is extremely beneficial at my level, so it makes me want to play more :)
Here's a fun way to study the opening:
- Two players play a normal game, and a third player is using LZ to analyse the game.
- When a player reaches 75%, he wins.
- We review and try our best to understand LZ's recommendation
- We rotate.
This way you get a high level study group with only 3 players. It's a fun way to study the opening, but it's probably best for dan players.
Motivation is especially hard when no one you know plays. Definitely a big part of why i stagnated at 2d. I went several years without playing at all till recently.
Come back and the game has changed so much. Moves my teachers had told me to never play are now the best moves which is interesting.
This sounds fun! Like you and her have said, I don’t know if I’m strong enough to benefit as someone on the verge of breaking the SDK barrier. But maybe it could help a little.
What is LZ? An App?
Thanks for a new video, I'm glad you're better, greetings from Chile
Graded tsumego books are the single thing that has helped me improve the most.
Reading is everything in tesuji and life and death, and losing groups due to a small mistake immediately drops your rank by several stones.
I am very happy to see you well and in high spirits! I wish you all the best for the future. Please keep those great videos coming.
It's wonderful to see you recovered and well \o/. Thank you so much for your videos.

That is my favorite part :)
Thank you!

Thank you very much for this very useful content from a pro player.
your lectures are like so fun and they are really helping me (a 7 kyu go player) ,hope you are doing better :)
Most of these tips are great for improving skill at anything, not just go. Such great life-advice :)
thanks for the video and i'm very happy you're fine and you're come back :) the 1st time i teach Go to my indonesian friend , i make a review of the game we played during 1 week ^^ after that she win against a 5k 2 weeks later :p
Thank you so much!
돌아왔네요!! 🎉 😊
YAY You're back c: !!!!!
I have been so worried about you. I am glad to see you are still alive. :0)
Great to see you
Welcome back!
There are awesome game review tools these days. OGS will save your game sgf, and analyze the game using a strong AI. I like GoReviewPartner software. There are many different flavors using different free AI's. I use the cpu-based Leela_0.11 (not Leela-zero) verson. You can setup the AI to give you many different move options too for both players, and it's really easy to step through the game and see the move options. I always see stuff I missed when reviewing with AI.
¡Olé! Estamos muy alegros que su salud está mejor!!
Thanks for your videos i started go 6 months ago and your videos helped me improve a lot I improved from kgs 14k to 7k in less than 2 months:) now i really need to improve fighting and yose. Hope you’ll make videos about it soon to give us some tips about fighting or yose
Welcome back :-)
Thanks !
Glad you are fine
Even AlphaGo didn't bother to learn Avalanche. So I felt better about avoiding it when I was last studying joseki.
So good to have you back! This is great stuff... what are your thoughts on correspondence games? Are they any good to get better?
thanks for the video! is very helpful.
i would really like to know how to "use your time" cause i always seem to struggle with that, I either play on instict or waste most time thinking about almost nothing, mind making a video about that?
Thanks for sharing your tips!!
How about correspondence games? (I.e. several days of time for each player). This way I have time to think deeply but my games can take several weeks to complete, but I play more of them at the same time.
have you seen dwyrin on youtube? Would be fun if the two of you played a game.
wow!
Glad to know you are alright!
How about replaying pro games? Does it help in improving also?
What do you think of older game such as 100 years ago or 10 years ago Since ai gives out tons of new variations? Does it worth checking out?
Hey, I have a question :)
How can we measure our go performance and especially advancement in skills?
I know that the ability to solve tsumegos and rank in game can be used to measure ones progress. But are there any other ways to measure progress? It motivates me a lot to see I have gotten better. Thanks :)
i love Go )))
Good video :-)
What about studying professional games ? I feel like it's really helping me
Blitz brought me from 10k to 2d in a year.
Hey Yeonwoo! What do you think about doing your own user game reviews? 10k, 1d, 8d?
do you give reviews? which rate?
How do you respond to your opponent not playing a joseki move?
You punish them, of course!
How do you feel about the competitive nature of Go. I sometimes feel tired of trying to BEAT someone else. I feel "not nice". Also so many people (kyu) online are rude.
You did not include the recommendation to watch your videos! It makes Go fun! I hope you make more soon.
The hardest part of study for me is definitely learning joseki. I have been toying with the idea of playing "open book" but it would feel like cheating if I did this online. I have tried it against bots a couple of times. The other strategy is to do lots of mirror go, but that would depend on your opponent knowing joseki.
Hi! Can u give some tips for kids too, like 6-10 year old kids? Or for teachers who teach kids? For example how many hours should they study in a week, and how does their level improve with that studying. Thx! :)
Haylee made a video about that : )
Very good tips Yeon Woo, thanks. But...how much time should we spend watching go professionals teach on CZcams? It's a serious question - I think I spend too much time doing this, instead of the other activities you recommend.
I play games, review them, do daily tsumego ... but I don't improve anymore.
So the missing link seems to be studying patterns (joseki).
Or I have long reached my ceiling.
I'll try. Stuck in 7D wbaduk for 2 years :(. I play go everyday but nothing improve
7D is pretty good for an amatuer. Not much further to go.
And if you don't know anyone who is good at Go?
Cello
Your word became wort
Haha 😂
Just wanted to say that you looks really young :) peace
Her mind is very fresh and young ! And she's always smiling and kidding :)
thank God your hair is still short!
And don't forget to shave your head 😉
I am really glad to hear/see that you are ok. care yourself
and thanks for the video. I hope i could get stronger :)
