This is certainly one of the best episode of all DW.
It really isn’t
I think you’re right😂👍🏻
You need to do a top 10 Episodes when you’re done and various other lists
My all time favourite episode also!!! So glad you loved it so much, awesome reaction 😊
''No one should have that much power.''
The Doctor: ''Tough.''
The Master in season 3: ''Tough.''
Clever writing 101.
To correct you, at that moment, he was the timelord victoriouse, not the doctor ;)
@@Mysterios1989 He's still the same person smartass
The Doctor: "AND THEY WILL OBEY ME"
The Masters' 'catchphrase': YOU WILL OBEY ME
Also: "I'm not just a survivor, I'm the winner."
Master: "I win."
@@Casterborous the doctor isn’t his name it’s a title he uses
"Because sometimes, I think you need someone to stop you."-Donna Noble.
"See this is what happens when you travel alone for too long."- Amy Pond reminding the Doctor that he needs someone.
"If you could decide who lives and who dies, that would make you a monster." - Mr. Copper (Voyage of the Damned)
"Sometimes the only choices you have are bad ones, but you still have to choose." - Twelfth Doctor, Mummy on the Orient Express.
"Benny" - some old lady
"Steak and chips!" - Ninth Doctor
"He got his ego shattered." Honestly could not have put it any better.
I do like the idea of Adelaide being so important to history that even the Daleks wouldn't mess with her timeline
It makes no sense though. They were minutes away from destroying the multiverse and with it the Web of Time that created fixed points
@@iceoriental123 At that point, it wouldn't matter. But if the Daleks tried killing her before the timeline was deleted, it would break reality right _then_ before the Reality Bomb went off.
No I think that’s the time the daleks were called back to shield themselves from the reality bomb.
"That's why he needs a companion". Yep, you nailed it. I love how he uses a few catchphrases of the Master's as well. It illustrates how alike him the Doctor could be if left unchecked.
That means all the master needed was a friend and he could have been just like the Doctor. tho I guess that was shown with Missy
@@omalleycaboose5937they explore that idea in missys audio books where she literally kidnaps a man from the 1800s and forced him to become her "companion" while she tries to save worlds but is very bad at it causing more problems than good, honestly theres alot of potential from the 7 seasons of audio books to make a good show out of it
"State your name rank and intention."
"The Doctor, Doctor, fun." :)
He doesn't end up having much fun in this episode lol
''Laws of time are mine, AND THEY WILL OBEY ME!''
So good.
CHILLS EVERYTIME
The Doctor goes full Master.
The Doctor at his worst, his most arrogant.
"They will Obey me." Was the Master's catchphrase back in Classic Who.
@@abyss2590 think he did that a long time ago
Ten’s ‘Time Lord Victorious’ moment in this episode gave me chills, man... this episode was amazing when it first aired and it STILL is.
It really made me wish we got a Timelord Victorious arc over a few episodes rather than just one. It was such an intriguing idea in a fantastic episode.
Doctor, your Valeyard is showing :P
@@LabradorIndependent Then I hope you enjoy the Time Lord Victorious multimedia event next September :D
“THREE KNOCKS IS ALL YOU’RE GETTING!”
Love that line!
This is the closest to becoming The Master, that the Doctor has ever been.
He even talked like him. 'Tough'.
"Is there nothing you can't do?" "Not anymore."
"One thing you can't do...stop them thinking."
Slyfox cub what link do those two quotes have.
And yes I know where there both from “Last Of The Timelords”
@@drd2121 The Master had won, except the fact that the human race used it's free will to make him lose against the Doctor.
The Doctor had 'won', but Brooke's free will to decide to kill herself made him 'lose'.
The laws of buffering are mine, and they will obey me!
Top tier comment 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
This is by far one of the best episodes of the show, the way the doctor finally snaps and goes off the deep end still gives me chills no matter how many times I watch it.
You know what's subtle and amazing about the end of this episode? The sonic screwdriver. When he takes Adelaide back home and gives that Time Lord Victorious speech, he pulls out his sonic screwdriver and opens her front door. When the Doctor falls into his own ego like this, even the simple act of sonic-ing a door opens becomes sinister. He's an unstoppable god, nothing can stop him, and he can even open your door and invade your home whenever he wishes.
There should be a law that forbids doctor from traveling alone.
When the Doctor is in Time Lord Victorious mode, you can practically hear the Sound of Drums.
This is probably Tennant's best performance.
Captain Phoenix I’d say that his performance in the end of time part 2 is his best but his performance in this episode is still fantastic
definitely in my opinion. SO MUCH MORE is a close second tho.
@@bazzamckracken588 I
He owns this whole episode. The doctor desperate
Human Nature/Family of Blood was also good acting by Tennant
I can’t believe how well this episode holds up over time, it was brilliant back then and still is now.
Murray Golds score is phenomenal it gives me chills every time.
You get told constantly throughout this episode that all these people are supposed to die, there’s nothing anyone can do it’s a fixed point they have to die, but he’s the Doctor how could he just standby and let it happen?
He made the right choice by doing the wrong thing and when Captain Adelaid Brooke took her own life he knew that, he realized in that moment he had gone too far.
It’s when he uses the phrase ‘saved some little people’ that gives me chills down my spine, the doctor I know would never refer to us humans as ‘little people’ that’s not Who he is those final moments of this episode are what make it truly amazing for me a real insight into what he could become without a companion
Murray gold made the most brilliant pieces of music ever.
Segun akinola has nothing on murray gold
Joshua Ayres for sure. I will burn £500,000 if he made a piece of music that was better than all of his masterpieces
No he was shit. Over dramatic and repetitive
The Impossible Planet is one of my favourite pieces of music ever
agree. i looovee 'i am the doctor' and 'all the strange strange creatures'
If this is how far he goes when changing time, imagine what he did during the time war.. No wonder he fears being alone
I love catastrophically wrong everything goes in this episode, it's so devastating and genuinely claustrophobic and scary
Captain Legs please stop using phrases *I* understand, I like bragging about my superior intelligence.
Ikr? Literally everything went wrong. I think this is one of the Doctor's most collosal fuck-ups.
He said about himself
A mad man with a box
also next weeks eps will be released back 2 back. yeet love you
Love your reactions
Ur an absolute G bro 👏
You spoil us
Wonderful news. Can't wait.
Oh shit, 🔥 🔥 love u bro
My favourite line; “we’re not just fighting the flood we’re fighting time itself, AND IM GONNA WIN!” That arrogance, that superiority, that power realisation isn’t only amazing as a scene but scary asf as a whole.
Truly incredible episode. One that really reduces you to tears. Great cast, but of course Lindsay Duncan just nails it. Possibly the greatest one and done character in all of time and space.
To: lawrencegough - Ha,ha! When does Lindsay, not? Her porcelain beauty belies the 'humanity' she brings to her roles.
A remarkable actress.
Along with Wilf, yeah
"Like part of this is epic but at the same time, I feel sad" Yeah that's the point.
10 scared me with his out-of-control behavior. Thankfully, he got a wake-up call.
“Imagine if you could determine who lives and who dies. That would make you some kind of monster.” - Mr. Copper
one of the best episodes of dr who ever. love this episode.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEES. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
The natives of Mars are The Ice Warriors. Classic Who.
Your theories are great this episode. They usually are interesting but this episode you seem quite accurate
Ayy much appreciated fam 🙏🏽😭
If I'm honest, I have agree, because usually I can be rather dismissive of his theories and predictions generally.
Steven Mclean even if he was far off I was always quite interested in his theories
This is my favorite 10th doctor episode
Just for future reference, because I've never seen anyone comment on this, that heavy, tolling gong is called the Cloister Bell. meant to sound only in the direst of emergencies, it was first used in the fifth Doctors first story, Castrovalva, though mentioned by the fourth to his companion Adric in his last story, Logopolois.
Top three episode of all time. Possibly favourite, I don’t know. Either way, it’s phenomenal. (Haha I typed that just as you said pretty much the same thing.) I forgot how intense and mature this one was. Just incredible. And now...knock knock...
Dude I love this episode so much, I was a kid when it first came out, gave me nightmares for a long time, LOVE IT.
10 realized he went too far, and he did things he shouldn't have. If it wasn't for Adelaide killing herself, her family legacy and the future wouldn't have been saved.
Why? Why wouldn't it be saved? Other two survivors told the story and portrayed her as a hero. So the history was changed regardless of her suicide (before everyone just assumed that explosion was not a fuck up). And her family had to arrange funerals knowing that she survived, came home and killed herself. Nobody knew about laws of time on Earth at the moment. And it seems to everyone else that in a span of a day her character was broken that much that she had lost a will to live or she couldnt handle losing 70% of her crew. Both things understandable but not heroic.
FYI when you say '"this is Easter so hes been on his own a couple of months...." theres no suggestion that the show passes in real time, in fact with hundreds of years of his life passing over the course of the series, whenever one episode doesnt play directly into the next, its bound to have been a LOT longer.
Unfortunately 10 lived for 7 or 8 years I think
There’s no proof of that
@@mmm5409 he says he's 906
I’m literally crying when the doctor came back for them
It felt like Tennant has plenty of episodes but after watching you react I realise it’s not as much as we thought
"Bowie Base" named after David Bowie and the song Is their life on Mars.
To touch on what you said about how they made the water effects, like you said they had very tiny tubes which pumped out water blended in their skin with the make up! It was actually a hard effect to pull off and the team were struggling with it but managed to pull something utterly brilliant and terrifying
Those were not even their scariest design for this monsters. Their original was so much creepier.
This is the sole reason David Tennant will always be my doctor. His emotional acting cannot be compared to any other doctor I've ever seen
water, water everywhere...
...and not a drop to drink. ;p
Seriously though, this was a really good story with huge character-stuffs for the Doctor.
Is that a Santiago joke?
This is definitely one of the great Dr. Who episodes. Really see why he needs a companion. And damn, even heavily edited for CZcams this episode still punches the feels.
Can't wait for the "End of Time" two parter next week!!
This is the episode that made me realize that it was time for this Doctor to go. He was starting to snap. Any longer and he would've become something like the Master.
It's fucking amazing. One of my favourite episodes too.
Even the cut short clips of the episode still got me emotional. The time lord victorious is still chilling so many years later.
It’s always a shock going back to this one and remembering just HOW impactful and tragic it is. My ONLY issue is I’m not sure if it makes sense that Adelaide dying on Earth would create the same future her dying in space does.
5 years late, so just on time for youtube comments lol but I agree 100% it feels like not enough was said about the future of mankind's space race after the doctor's interference. A small but thought provoking flaw in this episode.
Still one of my favourite episodes.
This is my favourite 10th Doctor episode by far, especially considering its a standalone
that cloister bell the tardis sounds only happens when something seriously fucked up has happened.
Fun fact the actors and actresses had small pipes running up there backs and round to there mouths hidden under the makeup, most had trouble trying not to drown as the water was being pumped in fast then they could spit it out and breath.
I really wish we got to see more of the 'Time Lord Victorious'. Would have been great over a few episodes. Or even leading into Matt Smith's Doctor.
10 here acts a lot like the Valeyard, which makes a lot of sense.
Best reactor on yt by far! Another great reaction mate
He will knock 4 times.
Mike Morgan this song is ending ... but the story never ends
Thank you for the reaction! When I watched DW for the first time growing up I got freaked out by this episode and stopped maybe 20min in, so I watched it for the first time last night on my rewatch, and it messed me up!!!! I loved watching you go through the roller coaster as well. I don't have a favourite doctor, but this one really cemented what I've always said about 10-he's the Doctor who at his darkest scares me the most, but also breaks my heart for him like no other.
Lmao sorry for the spam but I have to say. When you said “just keep swimming” no joke I did the swimming motion
Jeez! mans gonna get 2 episodes next week, low-key hyped 😂
Great reaction to one of my favorite episodes of Dr. Who.
This episode is definitely one of my favourites it's just the chill I get with the time lord victorius moment and that power that the doctor has is just scary.
Absolutely loving your reactions!!!
Can’t wait till you see Capaldi. Think he’ll be you’re favourite based on this episode
Capaldi was a mix of many doctors which is why I liked him. Capaldi and Tennant are joint second along with Tom baker
Jay Cartwright same
I just realised at the end
"Isn't anyone gonna thank me?"
You know the Doctor's gone off the deep end when he actually asks to be thanked for saving people
I guess he liked the applause he got at the end of "The Next Doctor" a bit too much :P
Man I knew you’d love this episode, just wait for the other two bro.
The master is one of the greatest villains in new and classic who.
Cant wait till you watch end of time i literally just watched it
Remember watching this episode when it came out and being scared to touch water
My favourite ever episode. Just unbelievably good
I remember this episode scared the shit out of me XD
Victorian Clara and Adelaide are missed opportunities (to have as full time companions)
One of the best reactions I've ever seen omg
Great reaction. Very insightful!!
My fav episode, scared the hell out of me when i was little.
This is my favorite episode after turn left, it’s on an equal footing with stolen earth/journeys end
if this is what he's like just a few months alone, after the awful time the series four final was for him, imagine all those years during the time war. no wonder he clung to rose to quickly, and so scared of being alone
yes man dis IS one of the best episodes
"Even the Daleks would give him a weird look" 😂😂
The Time Lord Victorious is such a presence on screen. In many ways it’s the “I am the doctor” moment cranked up to extreme and it’s very satisfying in kind of a righteous anger sort of way.
But it’s that double edged sword. The Doctor couldn’t sustain it, not with the consequences being what they are.
But oh boy is the TLV fun to watch from time to time. To get to see the Doctor at the peak of their power and intention.
Your space horror safety instincts are on point
"There is some evil in all of us, Doctor, even you. The Valeyard is a culmination of your darker aspects, somewhere between your 12th and final incarnation"
Great reaction- The best episode ever imo
Awesome vid my favourite special of Em all
Adelaide looked at the face of God and was disgusted. Such a strong character oh my lord.
@21 minutes the theme song changes to the one usually used for the master.
26:08 sound of the Cloister Bell
You know something, I've always seen your reactions on The Skybound channel for The Walking Dead but I've never actaully looked up your channel but this is the most purest reaction I've seen to this episode it's close to 10 years since this episode aired and I haven't seen someone react like this before reminds me on how I acted seeing it back in 2009.
Probably won't see this comment but man I'm subbing to you because you've interested me in the idea of you reaction to the end of 10 and the beginning off 11.
THEY WILL OBEY ME
... Was the Catch Phrase of the Master back in classic Who.
there is a video on the making of The waters Of Mars.
How is this 10 years ago this year, where does the time go?!😳
When the Doctor goes crazy...he goes *C R A Z Y .*
Never piss off the Doctor.
these episodes are the greatest
Ayyy I'm from Liverpool never noticed he said that before
I forgot just how brilliant this episode is.
This episode is terrifying, to be honest. But I still love it. XD
4:20 He doesn't recall it he feels the turn of the universe, he can sort of remember all of history, it's more like glimpses really, like we just saw him do.
He could have gone evil at this point. What a wild arc that would have been.
Filmed at the Great Glasshouse in the National Botanic Garden of Wales
Your appreciating is satisfactory.
Donna did tell him to go back and save people from Pompey, she would’ve told him to save them too
Everyone else watching this episode: "Those water zombies are creepy as hell."
Me: "GEMMA FRICKIN' CHAN!"😍💖💘💓💓💖😃💓💕❤💘💖💕💕❤😊
David Tennant is a fucking legend
Wow, the infected in this creep the heck out of me, and you laughed at them! To each their own...
