A fashion haul featuring charity shops finds I bought in my latest day-trip to St Alban's.
I managed to find some absolute gems:

Just discovered Andrea from watching one of her shorts. I am amazed by her skill and enthusiasm/passion and creativity. Watching her videos, I may just yet learn to build a personal style for myself beyond plain tees, turtlenecks, and jeans.
I am hoping for the same thing! I love my turtlenecks, but they need styling!

that V-neck white blouse in the beginning with the covered buttons and puffed sleeves, was absolutely exquisite.
everything else was wonderful, but that blouse made me gasp!
I've always believed, that good expensive clothes need to be worn by more than one owner, this especially goes for children's clothes, that they grow out of so quickly. I love that you are slim and you look so pretty in these outfits.
Single father of three girls, my daughters ask me all the time what looks good! I have often relied on Andrea and tell them to check her out! I am dressing better myself. Men could step it up! I get so many compliments!😂❤😊
Tall, thin, and young. A sense of humour, and kind to animals. Andrea has it all, I love everything in this thrift haul. Sigh, I can't wear most of it, since I am short, fat, and 70. But I sure enjoy watching and am living vicariously through you!

Wow your thrifted items are amazing finds! I recently started thrifting a year ago and it changed my life esp being a more conscious eco friendly consumer.
I have only visited London once way back in 2007 but i still use the most fantastic little purse I bought at a vintage thrift shop there. I love how well made many vintage items are. Your style is amazing by the way!
i visited London first with 16, in 1973. A great pleasure, and of course we worn all this vintage stuff as normal.

I was amazed by the large amount of charity shop in England.
Charity shops are one of the thigs I miss about the UK. I used to live in Hatfield, near St Albans and hunting in the charities was one of my favorite activities.
I've been feeling so uninspired lately that I barely want to shop. After watching your video (videos, actually, but particularly this video), I am officially reinspired! Thank you, Darling!

I can be having a stressful day, and your fun videos turn my frown upside down. Some thrift shopping days are pure gold. It seems all the stars align and you can really find some gems. I have had a couple of those the past year. Really missed them during pandemic. Loved most of your finds. We share many tastes, even if I am considerably older and a bit larger. my intro to thrift stores was when i was 10 (52 years ago!). my family had moved from one state to another the movers took 6 weeks to deliver our belongings. we had to go to a thrift store for school clothes. there was a stigma back then. now it’s chic!
the best thrift stores in southern california are at or close to the beach cities. my favorites are in the artsy & eclectic venice beach community. the others are a chain called “out of the closet,” where proceeds support AIDs awareness & outreach. it’s a little pricey, but the selection of clothing & accessories is swank & eclectic.
i haven’t been to these places in years. i’m kind of homesick now. 😂
Translation for fellow Americans: broderie anglaise is eyelet or eyelet lace. Those pieces were 😍🤩btw!
also, my mom is german. i was conceived in germany. there must be major style in our DNA. i style my outfits the same as you: belt matches shoes; jewelry matches buttons or belts or color theme in clothing; etc. i even look at the textures of clothing. some combos just don’t work together IMO. when i was a yoga teacher, students would say they came to class just to “see what i was wearing.” 😂
i’m always complimented on my style (of mostly thrift store finds). a college friend years ago said, “you’re so cool. you dress like a little german girl.” i guess she was referring to my ever present tights & leggings ensembles. i was wearing colored & patterned tights i’d get for christmas from my german family. of course, i got made fun of because they didn’t sell these things in america.

Depends on the city: once I went to one charity shop in the highest endo of my city (a capital in South America) and I have never seen before or again a biggest amount of trash. Useless stuff, overworn and stained being sold as if it were gold.
In my city, I go to local markets, those which are just a few hours a determined day of the week and there you can find true gold: Free People shirt? £0.5 , Vera Wang blouse? £1, Ralph Lauren wool blazer? £3 Leather satchel? £0.5

I am so jealous. I live in a very rural area and our thrift stores are complete crap unless you want old lady stretch polyester in a sizes 12 and up. Not terribly useful for a size 2 that loves Andrea's style.

I love your fashion sense. You pick up such elegant vintage pieces like the white shirt and give them new life. I had nearly the exact same velvet shirt when I was 15 but gave it away early 2000s looking at you made me wish I had kept my 80s clothes. I also had similar high waisted khaki shorts.

They are embarrassed to go thrifting. Sometimes I wow them with a gift from my boutiques lol thrifting is my way forever!

I wish I had thrift stores like you have. Your style is beautiful and elegant. The prices in your stores seem so reasonable here they would be at least twice as much if not more. I’ve gone to high end thrift shops for special occasions…on one occasion I found a stunning silk dress with the very expensive tag still on it, and two gorgeous suits for my teen age sons, which I had adjusted by a tailor. People drooled over my dress and my sons received lots of compliments. Got it all for less than $75 US, including the tailoring. Love the long black dress and the broderie Englaise blouse!

"high income areas have the best charity shops." 100%. My husband and I love going thrifting in the rich parts of Chicago and rich suburbs. We got a really nice vintage bedroom set for under $200 recently from one of the rich neighborhoods. :)

Wow, Andrea, great haul! I love vintage clothes & love your style. I'm an American that was born in England. My American Air Force dad married my British mum in London while he was stationed there. I remember my mum telling us about living in the country near St Albans during WW11 as a child. I've been back to visit relatives in London, but didn't get to go to charity shops, which we call thrift stores here in the US. My aunt was wealthy and took me to Harrods a couple of times, tho.
