When I used to be friends with Andrew Olsen before him and I parted friendship, he sent me a screenshot of the front part of the original 1988 Barney Doll Sketch. They back in April when I watched Andrew’s world largest Barney collection, the videographer that panned over the side sketch, I ended up taking a screenshot of it. I was literally promised to get actual copies of any sketches or behind the scenes about the original doll if it was popped up. No one notified me which made me again screenshots the photo. Now that I had the front and side with the head, I asked Oriandagger to 3D design the two original sketches for me. And the results is what you would see in the others pictures if it was finished. Plush I had Oriandagger made the head rounder with cheeks and dimples at the corners of the mouth. The round head with cheeks and dimples were the original Art Director vision of Barney. I am fulfilling that wish of hers into this project. While the original Art Director only had sketches of the original doll, she never had the chance to make any patterns. My goal is to create patterns and work from the sketches as if I were to create this from scratch. If you want more information, ask Andrew. That guy can preach about Barney love, kindness and forgiveness but doesn’t practice it. I have tried reaching out to him, apologizing to him and I get no response in return. Therefore, I am quite upset with how immature he is when I am trying to be the bigger and better person. I have heard from several people that he hit a dead end on his search for the original doll and I hit a dead end too. To be quite honest as much as it pains me to say this but the original 1988 Barney doll itself has probably been destroyed and will never be found. If people think it’s still out there, someone should have came forward a long time ago. I was the first person to originally post a search video and then Andrew posted a search video last year as well. Not one person came forward to one of us. Basically it tells me that it must’ve been destroyed like the original costume. If that’s the case, the best thing to do is start from scratch by working with the original sketches. It’s like putting a puzzle together. Who knows, this doll can be a tad better than the original prop doll. With some informations that I have, I will be making a few. Like the original doll, this will have a open mouth.
