    Got a Galco vertical shoulder holster for my revolvers. The holster works with S&W J and L frame revolvers. Same holster that can hold multiple guns. Some Colts and Rugers too.
    Galco has an optional holster retainment strap to stabilize the holster portion. Available on Galco's website. Attaches to the the snaps on the holster.

    I got my Miami Classic last week for winter carry. I'm loving it, so comfortable with a light weight Glock. I like my G19x in it instead of the regular G19 but only drawback is with the regular Miami Classic you have the snap straps over the mags so can't carry the 19 round mags, have to settle with the 17 round mags. Great video dude.

    Nice video brother and I like and get your thinking and I am a Galco gun leather fan also besides the limited holster choices for WML's ect....
    I'm a shoulder holster guy in colder weather.
    I have a tip and a recommendation or two.
    1. I have never cut any straps on my harnesses as I just thread thru and overlap and put screw in last hole so no loose ends, make sure to adjust slack exactly correct by pinching and running finger along slack section.
    2. You need a BUG or a back up gun if you truly take protecting seriously and there is no better way to carry a backup with that shoulder holster then to have an identical gun were the mags are and the shoulder rig will be perfectly balanced which makes it that much better and more comfortable.
    Best wishes , I hope you try the dual gun as EVEN GALCO MENTIONS IT ON THERE WEBSITE

    Think i like the 3 o'clock carry best. There is reason cops and military use it. But i love shoulder carry holsters if u drive a lot or have a job requiring you driving all day. Its best way to carry a gun and its easiest way to present it if the threat arises. Don't involve any weird positioning movements, doesn't interfere with seat belt and it doesn't require you to point your weapon into femoral arteries like appendix does. Besides if you Taxing or uber driving if somebody is to grab you behind the seat you can easily manipulate the weapon without fully unhostering it and fire it.

    I prefer shoulder carry for a lot of reasons - chiefly however because I loathe the feeling of anything on my hip. If I’m in shorts, it’s a j frame all day- otherwise I can easily manage a full size 1911 all day.

    Did you order your holster in a left hand draw or did you just switch them? I ask because I can’t find anything in a left hand draw for my firearms, so I’m considering just ordering a right handed one and flipping it.

  • @wills1110
    @wills1110 Před rokem +1

    Why did you decide to get rid of the chest rig and glock?

  • @MrKitty-zv3dl
    @MrKitty-zv3dl Před 4 lety +3

    Reasons why I don't prefer shoulder holsters;
    1. If your draw hand/arm is unable to be used it is much harder to draw with your weak hand using a shoulder rig.
    2. The firearm isn't held snug to the body so it's a bit more difficult to get a draw without adjusting your grip afterward. Ideally you want to grip and draw the firearm with your firing grip already established. The other situation is if you go hands on with an attacker to the ground moving around and having to locate the grip of the firearm if needed. Look at the movement for example in a slight movement standing upright at 07:17.
    3. In horizontal carry the muzzle sweep is something to be aware of as you're sweeping 180 degrees.
    4. I prefer to keep my firearm away from the threat. If you take a defensive stance you put your weak side forward. Carrying in a shoulder rig puts your weapon closer to the threat as opposed to hip carry.
    5. You need a thumb snap to retain the weapon and it must be defeated to draw with a shoulder holster. Carrying on your hip you have the option of either with or without thumb snap.
    I do like shoulder holsters for driving but for everyday carry I prefer waist carry.

    • @Leman.Russ.6thLegion
      @Leman.Russ.6thLegion  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeh man! Very good and concise points! I don't have that glock anymore so all my carry guns are either Decocked on the hip or have safeties and on hip. I actually carry my little 357 snubby in a cross draw so I can use either hand. Lefty means my speed loaders are on left side, so the snub is basically laying over my right leg. I actually stopped carrying the glocks, because of the lack of a safety. So I just carry OWB mostly. I went back to cz75 type guns for carry. Witness pro 10mm, 75B Omega Convertible, Steel Sp01 Safety Model. My very first carry gun was a 75 compact with a decocker. Really regret selling it. But the omega is almost perfect for me TBH. If it had just 1 spot for a light, I wouldn't carry anything else. But my wife has the sp01 by bedside for night time. And the 10mm is for hiking or going out in the country. I do still prefer having a thumb break/strap snap for retention. Just to make sure the thing stays put. Plus I make all my holsters, so I just like the strap reten for muscle memory sake

      @@Leman.Russ.6thLegionit is to difficult to protect your firearm at all times in public but if your open carrying, you must. Like when out shopping, holding kids, etc. There are times when both your hands are full. Now your gun is vulnerable and up for grabs. Suppose someone intent on doing harm, enters a public place where you are at. They see you are carrying, but there weapon is still concealed until they are ready to strike. You're getting the first bullet. You lose any tactical advantage when open carrying. I understand why cops, military and hunters open carry. It makes little sense for most anyone else too.
