    This made me feel a lot better because I realized I'm already doing most of these things and starting to figure out a few others. I started skating with my daughter last year after not having skated since being a kid myself. She's picking stuff up a lot faster than I am but I can still tell that I improve every time I go out on the ice.
    Thanks so much for these excellent tutorials. They help a lot and they inspire me to keep learning and improving.

    My instructors back in the day discouraged me from marching. We went straight into bending knees and pushing one leg and then the other from the centre. But this is all good info when I retake skating. At the moment, there are no ice rinks in Barcelona anymore :(

    June 2 - Adult LTS (usa) level 1 *at 67! yikes. fast forward I am finishing LTS 3 and trying. Chasses are iffy, 2ft turns are out of control, but trying my best. Our classes were a tad unconstructed and all over the place. In the first LTS 2 we were instructed to do backward one foot glides L and R! Such a mess. Showed scooter pushes ONCE. I am doing LTS 1 and 2 in privates AGAIN, once a week. Looks like I will be in LTS 3 for a couple times, too. but i do love skating and watching Next Edge!!! (Could you use your fabulous coaching here in Ohio. usa :)

      I am in my 40s just started this past March and my lessons were the same kind of all over the place. I am basically doing all of the LTS 3 things more or less now that I see them put this way which is nice to know. Although I have a lot of trouble still doing one-foot glides consistently.

    I got the rocking horse today! I started last month! Very happy. But how do you skate marching without tripping on the picks?

    Thank you for the tips! For the one-foot glide do you put weight on the outside edge?

    • @nextedgetutorials
      @nextedgetutorials  Před 5 měsíci +2

      When doing the one foot glide forward, I’m not pressing an outside or inside edge.
      When I want to do outside edges, I will press the outside edge of the blade 😉
      I hope this helps 💜💜

    How come you don't catch your picks when you skate like that? We've been taught to push out to the side.

      In an internet world, we do have the power to communicate around the world and I was trying to point out that the word "nother" doesn't exist: not for one person, but all that use it. I do not mean to embarrass one person: I mean to add my voice to those ensuring that the English language is not degraded, on a global level.

      Merriam-Webster defines a word as "a speech sound or series of speech sounds that symbolizes and communicates a meaning". Therefore, nother is a word. You're not witnessing or preventing the degradation of a language, but the evolution instead.
