in the netherlands where i fish its "closed time "now for the predatory fish because of the spawn (perch ,zander,pike ,asp)
we have got to wait until the last saturday of may 😢 that's 2 months of no fishing with arteficial lures or bait fish

sorry to hear that mate. here, where I live, some species don't close at all ... it's up to the fisherman to not fish them in certain conditions, especially certain species that are quite vulnerable in that period. they are considered invasive species and are not protected by any law. luckly, most of the fisheman are relasing them so it's not a big problem, except the ones that are nesting. cheers mate ...
ps: one more thing. here, this year the asp finshed spawning in the 3rd week of february and the zander around the middle of march ... more or less.

Good session, considering the waters. I wonder, are you not allowed to fish from that structure (dam gates)? Or is it to high for your net to reach the water level?

thanks a lot man. it's forbiden to fish from those structures, and would have been really uncomfortable to fish from there. and yeah, it's too high anyhow and would be a challenge to pull out a bigger fish. cheers man ...

Grazie mille Massimiliano. Si, queste piogge hanno fatto impossibile la pesca al aspio questa primavera. Oggi ho fatto un giro in alcuni posti non visto da mesi e sono “devastati” dalle piene … e 80% non raggiungibili ancora. Speriamo che nelle prossime settimane la situazione migliora. Ciao ciao 🤘🍻

Is asp fishing allowed in Italy all year round? Is there a ban during spawning?
Hey mate. There is no ban for the asp … even though, they spawn at the middle of February this year 😉. Cheers man 🤘🍻
