      I'm sick this week but overall things have been pretty good and I hope things are going good for you as well. It's always good to see when you've uploaded a video, and it's always good to have a message from you ( I needed to check my notifications sooner but only just did it now so I'm a little late with my reply so I apologize about that ). I'm hoping that one day your channel can get seen by thousands more new people, because the videos really do deserve to have a large audience.
      I'm optimistic about the future and I'm wishing you the best my friend!

    Hello from Liverpool England , both of Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers also carry the Apache Attack Helicopters as well, they are both going to get a refurb to magnetic cat and trap like the Ford Class carriers with possibly an angled deck this was the original plan but was shelved for costs at the time. Excellent video my friend .

      Hi from Bristol, I have seen in various occasions apaches on board of the carriers but according to the Royal Navy website, strangely the attack helicopters are not included on carrier strike group. Thank you for the update my friend and I am glad you have enjoyed it. Best regards

      Both or either of the ships could in theory see Apache attack helicopters deployed in their airwings if they were ever really used as very large LPHs/ amphibious assault carriers. Yet t.b.h. it's disappearingly unlikely in practice for two main reasons.
      -Firstly as our diminished land forces are now phenomenally unlikely to ever be deployed on independent amphibious operations of a scale that'd suggest the need for one or two +70k tonne assault carriers to begin with.
      -Secondly as despite the ludicrous "multirole" drivel that was originally spouted about the ships purpose, they're never likely in reality to be risked in such innately "close-up and personal" ops as amphib/littoral assault, anyway.
      In short, to use the traditional terminology they're de facto "fleet carriers" and in truth that's a big reason for their projected re-configuration for hybrid STOVL/CATOBAR operation you mention. Additionally, you're also correct in your assumption that this will really need an angled deck. Though alas, there are also indications that our London political/Civil Service elite vermin intend only a worthless "bargain basement" conversion, so I wouldn't get too enthusiastic.

      @squirepraggerstope3591 Před 5 měsíci

      @@jasonshenton7680 As I said, our London establishment vermin really intend at most, a cheap minimal reconfiguration of the ships to permit 'hybrid' STOVL/CATOBAR operation, so you're probably correct and they'll never receive EMALS or equivalent, at all.

    B.t.w, both ships have exceeded 30kts top speed while on trials, though I'd be surprised if that was achieved at f.l.d. and a more likely sustained max speed is c28 - 29kts. The 25kt figure cited here thus merely reflects the usual R.N. reticence re such matters and is in fact always expressed by R.N. spokesmen in the vague form "at least 25kts"

    The Queen Elizabeth class has a length of 284 metres, and a beam of 73 metres not 280m by 39m your research is not very good.

    • @Diversusmilitary
      @Diversusmilitary  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Hi there. You are right, it wasn’t bad research , when I typed into AI voice that I missed the information. The measurements in the video Are the waterline beam and length not overall. Thank you for pointing out those points. I hope that part of the info hasn’t ruin the video in its entirety. This will be taking into consideration in my future videos. A better checking before publishing.
      Best regards

    Actually, the carriers can carry up to 72 aircraft, not 40.!

    • @squirepraggerstope3591
      @squirepraggerstope3591 Před 6 měsíci

      The 72 figure is more likely a theoretical maximum expressed in terms of the principal combat aircraft carried (the F35-B), similar to comparable figures for the big US Nimitz and Ford class ships that often reach 110 or more planes (though all of them would be, say, F18s.)
      However, in real teerms, the QEs could each certainly operate comfortably a well balanced airwing of c60 aircraft all types, including up to c48 x F35-Bs in a strike role package. Again equivalent to the US carriers actual, real-life max wing of c90.
      So your remark is basically correct and indeed, from c2009 to 2017, reports on the ships virtually always referred to just 40 aircraft (including up to 36 x F35-Bs), as merely a standard, peacetime wing for the operational carrier. One that at need could be increased in "surge" conditions to a minimum "in the high 50s", or as "around 60".
      Because of course, the real reason for the confusion that pertains now with even-reducing numbers of F35s etc being cited in an airwing (from 36 to 24, then "max 24" and below even that number) is merely the result of lying drivel emitted by our odious London political/civil service elites. Mainly to confuse the facts and distract from the real truth.
      Which is simply that they'd prefer to virtue signal fatuously over our still bloated squandering of funds on overseas aid, etc, than to buy the number of essential aircraft needed to perform all relevant roles and configure the ships properly to operate them all.
