Thank you for this!, i collected and read that "Jungle Action" run when it first hit the 7-11 comics rack and had been as fan of Graham ever since!

Billy Graham's work with Don McCregor on Black Panther was one of the highlights of the Bronze Age comics of my teens. Graham was always inventive and obviously completely committed to this inspirational and influential book. When Marvel cancelled the book in the midst of the Panther vs the Klan storyline, it nearly put the last nail in my comic book reading.

The Panther's Rage series was probably the first published graphic novel, I don't think anything had been done quite like it before. Don McGregor's writing was dense, cerebral and epic, and Billy Graham's style was simple but pastoral, with some unusual layouts, that combined with the author's scripts to make it visually charming and exciting.

Interesting (and highly entertaining) profile of a vastly underrated--and seldom mentioned--comic book artist! Billy Graham is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest African-American comic book creators of all time! Graham's all-too-brief runs on both Luke Cage and Black Panther are fantastic!

Great video, Graham's Jungle action is possibly my overall favorite comic book run of all time. The splash pages in this book are some of the best I have ever seen. Working a film and exhibit with will feature a lot of grahams work including some original art. Going to share this with his Grand daughter Shawna.

Growing up, I initially missed his work on Luke Cage, but was right into his run on Black Panther with Don McGregor. While I am a HUGE fan of Jack Kirby, when it comes to Black Panther my fan loyalty is tested. McGregor, Graham et al were brilliant too. I would later dig his work on Sabre... This was a great vid.

Great video. I know very little about Mr Graham before. He is one of the greats. I remember having some of the comics he drew when I was a youth. Still wish I had them now to hand them down to the younger Generations.

HUGE FAN of SABRE 3 to 9! When I first started buying Indies, SABRE was like a diamond among the dozens and dozens of "Super Zeroes", both pro and Indie published, that I was getting bored with! A non jive talking, Afro hero who wasn't trying to "save the ghetto"? He was just having wild adventures in a post apocalyptic future? SIGN ME UP! Although getting all of the first 9 issues was tough, it was worth the legwork!

I think John Stewart Green Lantern actually predated Black Panther. Although obviously John is 2nd gen GL instead of an original hero
