I’m in Aroostook County Maine! The eclipse was euphoric for me! I am 73 years old and am so grateful I was able to witness the event! Pictures and videos will never ever do justice to the actual experience of this natural phenomenon! To see the change in sight, sound, temperature; to see the stars come out, to feel the atmospheric changes… It was ethereal! 😊😮
I loved eclipses. I was lucky enough to live in grand island Nebraska in 2017 for that total eclipse now I live in the path of this eclipse. So amazing!

Yes, and I think that's the reason religions, myths, gods, folklore etc. were created. The ancients very "seriously" afraid of natural (nature) events, and needed explanations & why.

I just watched the solar eclipse online and it took only 6 minutes
winning and not blind! gg gamer, GG! lol
Just saw a TOTAL eclipse in N. TX! Felt the temp. drop by around 20 degrees! Looked like it usually looks around 7:30 P. M. here. It was awesome! I had binoculars, which allowed me to see the "solar ring" around the moon, even though I could see no portion of the sun through my glasses.
They warned against using binoculars, even with solar eclipse glasses.
That is awesome but make sure you have an annual, if not bi-annual, eye exam after viewing the eclipse through binoculars. 👀

Eclipse noise, birds were afraid and rosters crowing. I think the wildlife was afraid.

I shared the eclipse with my dog pack, it was amazing! Some barked in amazement some had a freak out look in their eyes. I smiled and assured them, all was alright.
That was such an amazing experience had watched it on my “Eclipse Phone!!”

Unless you're in the Totality belt where the eclipse really mattered to see, it was a waste of time for the media to focus on New Yorkers to buy glasses and watch. Totally pointless 🤷🤷🤷
Texas was nice, the weather cooperated, saw the total, and the solar flares; Took some photos, the temperature dropped several degrees, and the wind kicked up... see you in another 20ish years.. August 12, 2045...

That eclipse was completely awesome!! I could see the solar prominences with my naked eyes. When the Moon completely blocks the Sun's disk is the only time you can safely look at the Sun with naked eyes.

They really missed out on this report. I watched the 2018 total eclipse from a small town park in 2018. The black circle with corona looks the same from all locations, but the effects on the ground are just as awesome: the crescents in leaf shadows as the moon takes its bite out of the sun, the sunset-on-the-horizon effect for 360 degrees, not just in the west, the gasps from the crowd when totality is achieved and cell phones are the brightest things around. Then the whispered hush of the crowd in the darkness, and finally the cheers when the sun reappears!
Humankind is really a bleep in this universe we like to cosplay we are vitally important to the existence of life on this planet and here comes an eclipse, a hurricane, a tsunami or an earthquake and it is painfully obvious we are just a bleep in the vastness of the universe that we are still struggling to understand.

Interesting how the sun and moon move east to west but the eclipse is moving in the opposite direction. Trust the science!
The moon orbits the Earth west to east. Its shadow moves west to east because it’s moving faster than the Earth’s rotation.
