    Thanks for the video, You make it look so simple. I have the LM3 10W and got the 20W upgrade kit for Christmas. I watched the ORTUR installation video and just installed the new OUC board on the exterior, which seems ridiculous, but I did it. It appears that the new setup requires 2 power supplies? Is that correct? It seems that I am supposed to use the new supply that came with the kit to plug into the new OUC board and I guess use my existing supply as I always have before. Is that correct? When I plug the power into the new board, it immediately starts running and never stops, even though the laser machine itself isn't even on. Thanks for your help.

    • @csganley
      @csganley Před 4 měsíci +1

      I found in the book where it says 2 power supplies are required. Both (original purchase and upgrade kit) of my power supplies are 24V 4A. I took a picture but cannot share here. The manual that came with the upgrade says only a 2A is required. It also refers to the new laser module as LU2-10A so who knows what's accurate.

      I looked at Ortur's documentation and it does look like it requires the second power supply. It is extremely awkward. My video does not show this since they provided me with a custom front end that has all of the new components integrated. @@csganley

      According to Ortur, you should be able to. You will. have to use an add on board that will sit on top of the laser though. Because of the cost of the upgrade model, I would look into the cost of a new laser altogether, there might be some special deals with the holidays coming that might make the overall cost more feasible.

    Overall I am kind of bummed out that ortur didn't keep up with xtool; was hoping they would of dropped a 40w module by now.
    I did hookup a airbush Air compressor dual lung; that helped greatly on cutting. Cheapy 1/2HP units on amazon; then just get 1/8BSP Male to 6mm RO line push connector. Most of the airbrush units come with a BSP adapter.

    My new 20 W laser kit came in, but I noticed on mine OTRUR laser master 3 there's not a place for 2 of the stops there's only one hole threaded in what would the measurement be between the first and second threaded hole. If I need to. can 3-D print a custom piece to fit without drilling a hole? How far apart are they? Thank you I don't know why it's missing the threaded hole, I could always drill a small hole and tap and diet, but I really don't want to drill anything into the body of the unit also absolutely had to . I can always move this kit over to my original OTRUR laser master 2 it came with the driver board, not the air pump kit. I prefer just to use the OTRUR laser master and get the extension kit for it because it has a much heavier frame and not so flexible yes, I could probably stiffen the other one up if I needed to. I don't know if that driver board that came with the 20 W is compatible with the 10 W to move it over to OTRUR laser master 2
    I try to get a hold of them, but they never answer. And like I said in their other videos, all they do is play music in the background, which tells you nothing at all.

    • @GeekBuildersNet
      @GeekBuildersNet  Před měsícem +1

      The y offset difference is 20mm, so the y setting goes from 400 to 380 with the 20w head installed. I assume that the offset is the same measurement for the screw stops. I think the driver board is supposed to be compatible with the LM2, but I cannot 100% verify that.

      Glass can be a challenge with diodes. In the past, I use a smokey beige rustoleum spray paint to coat the glass and then run the job. When the job is done, I use acetone to clean off the residual paint and then wash well with soap in water. I highly recommend having a few test pieces to get the power and speed correct. I have a post in my IG feed that shows one of the end results. Testing is really important since each module and each setup is different
