Left school at 15, worked on Farm, then worked up to production manager at concrete factory, before starting Landscape gardening business. Then Mountain biking grabbed me. 37 plus years as a bicycle mechanic and wheel builder, frame designer, rider, shop owner, owner of Smokestone bikes, event organiser and trail builder.
