I always told my daughter , when she was a baby, to tell me a baby story. She would coo and gurgle and laugh. Those days end too soon. My baby is 50 now.
Its so important what she is doing with baby. Normal conversation not baby talk, will yield good results. Many parents leave their kids in front of loud TV. Good job mom!

Ha ha, before I had children, I thought it was silly when ppl said talked. When I had my babies, I knew it was true! We just didn't always know what they were saying, lol. I could listen to my babies coo and talk all day.
I got my new one to start doing this at 2 months as well, drives mom nuts cause he hears my voice and immediately ceases whatever he was doing including napping

This poor child could develop resentments toward this sibling and maybe his mother for shutting him out. Mom could go do other mom things and let this older sibling fall in love with the baby, by talking to him and sharing a special moment.
I remember having these kinds of conversations with my son when he was that age. Treasure these moments, they're precious. He's in his forties now and our conversations are just as detailed

I remember doing this with my son. When it was time to wash dishes or vacuum etc I would place him on the floor/baby blanket in front of a large wall mirror and he would have a conversation with himself talking and laughing. Definitely way better than in front of a TV.

I get choked up when I see mommy and baby together, my son is now 30 and I want to know where time went? Once this little guy starts talking she will never shut him up. He has such a bubbly personality, it will be there forever. My daughter Megan was just like this and she spoke sentences before she was 14 months old. She read by age 3. And she tied the shoelaces for her entire nursery school class of 18 at 3.5 years old. Now an adult she has been very successful.
He is so adorable. I talked to a 3 mo old baby girl like that and she talked so much. Her parents were so surprised. Thank you for talking to him like he is so intelligent. He is so fun.

When my one son was about 2/3 months old - I was sitting waiting in a room at a hospital - where you went for advice on breastfeeding, & had your baby weighed etc. My son was lying in my arms, his face & eyes were fixated on my face & eyes. For about half an hour I talked to him & he also made noises, trying to talk. I actually lost all sense of where I was, & the other mums & babies. We were totally wrapped up in our own little world. I did not speak baby talk either. It was a precious time I will never forget. He never took his eyes off me, he didn't cry or wriggle he just lay in my arms & kept 'talking' & I responded.
Lovely to see her interacting with the baby, we should talk to babies. I just wish she would have reacted to the other child as well. They all need attention.
The mom could definitely have stopped talking to the baby for a minute and listened to the other child. It wouldn't have ruined anything. She's not filming a big budget movie.

The older child already talking can wait. When you have multiple children , they have to learn to share and take turns. Mom cannot be all things to everyone all at the same time. That’s how we talked with our kids: listen to baby vocalize, respond and back and forth. It’s great for their speech development.
But her daughter is trying to talk to her, and the mom is completely ignoring her. I find this really weird.

He was talking to the other parent holding the camera and was crying because he asked for something he couldn't have, he was not ignored.

My daughter had ear problems so barely talked at all until surgery at age 4! My son was the talker! What a difference when a child hears normally!
