Thanks to life I got the opportunity to watch the best cartoons have ever existed. Mask was one of them. Still remember those times. Thanks for sharing this amazing song.
I have a massive Transformers collection as well as some GI Joe, When I hear the song I think back at the toys. And sometimes I look at toy sellers and eBay, I always fear I'd just pick 1 up and then I'm doomed, I'd hunt down the whole line.
@DoomSlayerFan88 No my friend. At that time, the theme songs of American (and also Japanese) cartoons (and series live action) were played in the same original language. Only the episodes were dubbed. So that version you heard in your youth was the same one I heard. And the same happened with "Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors" (wonderful performance), "Galaxy Rangers" (No Guts No Glory...), Pole Position, Transformes, Thundercats, Gobots, etc. However, there was a cartoon that had the opening song translated, which was Wildfire, translated here as "Cavalo de Fogo" (Horse of Fire). And despite being a very beautiful song, there was a small stretch that the singer gave a slight out of tune. Anyone with a good ear could hear that. 😄

I'm 38 and my daughter recently turned 9. I sang to her in the womb and when she was a baby. Since I couldn't think of any nursery rhymes I just started singing themes from 80s TV shows. This was definitely on the list.❤
This song is very emotional, it reminded me so much of my childhood, I would have been about five or six years old watching it on TV with my beloved mother at home watching over me. Now that she is gone (god rest her beloved soul) all I do is just imagine that I am going back in time and seeing that part of life over again, with my younger self, childhood memories can be wonderful for some but painful to others depending on what their lives were like growing up. That is how PTSD manifests and for many they would forever have to live with the emotional, mental scars of growing up in a world of such pure social dysfunction and total despair. At least we can come here for time to time and go back to our childhood memories by watching the cartoons from our childhood from time to time.
I was thinking the same thing too, I was watching this cartoon when I was 7 or 8 years old with my beloved mummy. And sadly, just like your mom, she is no longer with me. I was just crying hearing the song again and was recollecting those great memories when I read your own comment. Hope our moms are watching us from above and know how much we love them.

I’ve not heard this extended version before. I absolutely loved this show and the theme tune takes me back to my childhood. A strange thing is though not a single one of my mates even remembers this show at all even when I showed them clips on CZcams.

Saturday mornings were never the same after such epic intros like this. I can still remember cranking the volume of our old Rank Arena and rocking out to this, Transformers and others and then being yelled at to "turn that crap down"! Good times.

The 80's need a rebirth in animation. Sure, most of these shows were, ahem, _vehicles_ to sell toys. But that was not a bad thing at all. Especially when the animation was fantastic, the stories were great (usually...I'm looking at you Thundercats' New Thundera), the voice work was great, and the music was JAMMIN'. Drop the CalArts crap already and do THIS.

I mean we've come a long way in video game technology since then but the games released back then are regarded as classics today.

Most of the animation was done by Japanese who were elite craftsmen in their profession.
