    Back in the 80s my father and his brother, my uncle, were camping very remote in the boundary waters canoe area. They were on a very large island and were chased off by something they never forgot. Even on my father’s deathbed in 2022, my uncle was holding his hand saying “remember when Bigfoot ran us off”?? My father couldn’t speak but wouldn’t let go of his hand squeezing tight as my uncle tried to pull away. Both ex military men and tough as they come. I’ve never doubted them even as a kid when it first happened

    I live in Alaska , and we have hairy man here , I do believe they are real . However as far as high power rifles go I would say this . A .300 win mag is capable of dispatching a 10' plus alaskan brown bear . Sasquatches reported are typically 10' tall or less. My belief is a well placed shot from a rifle that caliber or larger would definelty severely wound if not kill almost anything alive

I never felt threatened but something or someone wanted me out of that area in the middle of the night.

      Depends on the caliber for what you are hunting. People always act like you need some ridiculous size caliber for Bigfoot and Dogman; However, .338 cartridges routinely take down 1,000Ib Brown Bear, that’s a lot of fat, big bone, and hide to go through. They are called fuzzy tractors for a reason.

  • @MickPsyphon
    @MickPsyphon Před měsícem +1

    I always shake my head when I hear that someone believes hunting rifles are ineffective against Sasquatch. The only way that could be true is if theur either s lousy shot, or they're hunting varmint.
    Firstly, I don't condone the unnecessary hunting and killing of Sasquatch. If you're life, or safety are at imminent threat by a Sasquatch... and you're armed... I have nothing against you defending yourselves. I just don't the need to kill one needlessly.
    Having said that, I've been around firearms for most if my life. Started with a .22L rifle and a 10 gauge shotgun as s boy; and got exposed to a whole assortment of handguns, hunting rifles, target rifles... of ever increasing calibers, including during my time in the army, where I fired everything up to and including the Carl Gustav 84mm recoilless rifle.
    Sasquatch are flesh and bone creatures. They bleed. They have s heart that pumps blood; and they obviously have similar internal organs to humans. They're also NOT the biggest thing in the wild, nor the most dangerous to humans.
    A 30-06 round, even in the 1970's, can wound and kill a Sasquatch. Modern AR-15 5.56 rounds can too. Even the .223 rounds, but from a closer distance. When you start getting into the hypervelocity rounds, such ss the Weatherby Mag cartridges, you're talking deeper penetration, higher accuracy and greater chance of inflicting a mortal would on the target.
    What I'm getting at is that most non-varmint hunting rifles that people currently own are sufficient to protect yourselves from a Sasquatch *_IF IT SHOULD BECOME VIOLENT WITH YOU!_* (Sasquatch are far more likely to bluff charge, than actually harm you)
    I wouldn't suggest relying on handguns either, but if you have a handgun that csn take down a large bear (e.g.: 10mm, or bigger), it can also take down a Sasquatch. That's also noy to suggest that you go out and purchase a .454 Casul, or s .500 Nitro S&W, because while the rounds are certain fatal to a Sasquatch (or bear), if you aren't used to shooting a handgun with that kind or a kick, you're just going to piss off the Sasquatch (or bear).
    So, just get to KNOW YOUR FIREARMS, or better yet folks... leave Sasquatch alone.
