- Charles Ira Sachs of Transatlantic Research often recorded interviews with Maud. He sent her a postcard dated September 17, 1980, referring to their meeting the previous month (August) of that year.

My grandmother and her children emigrated to the U.S.A. from Hungary in 1910 on the Carpathia, a vessel dear to my heart for a couple of reasons.
So awesome to hear this. This is my great-great Grandma
How amazing to be able to hear an ancestors voice
I am so glad this lovely girl survvived and had a family. A wonderful personality.
A first hand witness report is the very best way to learn what it was like on that tragic night. This is so special; thank you.
What makes her story all the more engaging is the mistakes she makes. It shows this is the situation from her perspective and memory without being a rehearsed or researched.
I was born in Hancock. My grandmother Ida Curtis and Maud were good
Always people with rude comments take no notice. An 88 year old cannot remember every detail from so long ago same as the wars.
A true survivor not letting such a tragedy like the sinking of the titanic to not get in the way of her having a loving family and beautiful life. Thanks for sharing. And if she is no longer here God bless her soul and may she rest in peace!!
Very pleased I came across this recording and only wish more was recorded; Titanic and its dear passengers and crew will never be forgotten.
So many survivors said the iceberg hit the ship. I think the ship hit the iceberg.
They should make a film about the aftermath of the sinking. What it was like to be a survivor having lost everything.
Who the hell would give a ‘thumbs down’ to a video like this. She sounds like a lovely person. What a human story.
This was wonderful. Very interesting to hear from a Titanic survivor that I had not heard before. Maud tells the story very matter of factly but I could here the emotion of this tragic event even more just because she did not make a big deal about it. Thank you for posting this!
Hey Christine (or Gail whichever you prefer), it's nice to hear the actual voice of your grandmother! Having lived in the US for many years, she sounded more British than American.
RIP John Astor and Mr. Gugenheim you are missed and bless all those poor people on the Titanic. Excellent interview. Love your story and glad you survived.
She is beautiful 💞✨
Thanks for sharing such an incredible account of this tragedy.
What a great interview and what a very smart woman. Thank you so much for posting this video and drawing the curtain back on the people that lived through that tragedy and making them real.
I love all these stories. Rip all those who lost their lives.
