I thought I made this up but I'm so glad to see somebody else doing it. I've got a termite infested fence post that I want to save. I've drilled and sprayed it with poison and I am ready to bondo it
Need to use that on the 2x6s surrounding the rough opening around my garage overhead door. The entire 11' section of wall needs to be replaced but not in the budget right now.
The entire header in my garage above the overhead door is shot; this is something I can do for the pulley bracket lag screws to hold in the wood until I can replace the whole wall with pressure treated wood. Those screws are just sitting in there; they freewheel when attempting to tighten down.
during a home inspection you would not normally see open exterior walls. If I was inspecting this home and did observe this, I would note it in my report.
It helps but you are right. If you have boards that are more than 1/3 rotted, Then you would need to replace the studs or sister on new studs for the structural integrity. In my case the boards were less then 15% rotted.
Horrible. Termites will just eat around bondo till nothing left but bondo. At least add structural support on the sides of the corner 4x4. No problem with Bondo for cosmetic work. Not where structure repairs need to be done.

I will use Bondo to repair termite damaged wood. Is it easy and effective to sand, primer, and paint without peeling in future. Thanks

ZERO STRUCTURAL REPAIR
Seen another guy he put some harder with a brush on the wood first then let it dry for a few hours before putting the epoxy filler in there.
you could do that as well. I am not sure which method is stronger?
Well done 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the video. What can you do to get a nice corner and straighter lines?
Practice
would this pass a home inspection?

Termite don’t like to eat sweet Bondo. Not structural !!!!
It’s not cosmetic repair. Lift up Cut board piece and replace
Thanks for the video, this is a good idea! I'm going to try using fiberglass resin.
Go for it!
surely this does nothing to help the structural integrity though?

I hear you but in my case the Termite damage was not that bad structurally speaking.
This is a terrible idea to me. Please don't do this on support beams and structural parts that need to have some mobility.
I agree if the support post is more than 40% rotted. In my case it was less than 20% so I did feel comfortable with my job.
