Great video thank you! I started playing this season, pretty casually and hit gold 3. Until then it was quite a breeze ranking up but now it's quite hard to hit top 3. After watching this video i realized i actually do some of the mistakes you mentioned, such as leveling an AP unit while not having the right items and randomly leveling hoping to get a unit before scouting only to find out someone else is hoarding on it. Would love to see more content of this type as well as full games, much appreciated!

Gold 3 is great for casually playing AND it being your first season, congrats! Glad to hear I could help and will definitely be making similar videos in the future!

Good tip ! I was so used to set 10 by rolling down at 4-2 with not much gold to hit a headliner and stabilize with it, no more in set 11,rolling down without a specific game plan and trying to 2 star a 4 cost and play around it its a death wish , also wanna add that I see a lot of players grief their own board by hoarding items, makes them bleed out too much and when they stabilize its too late. Any tips on playing ghostly ? like early board game, item holder and such.

Great video! I came back to TFT in set 10 and oh boy the headliner mechanic makes the game so different. I've had to relearn everything and now I guess in set 11 I'll have to learn how to play again XD

I have been playing a bit of pbe but the fhallenge with every new set is figuring where to ppace items either permanently or ona temporary holder. The trait web takes a while but at peast early on in the aet going for vertical comps can makes it easier for me to keep track of units.

    • @sendtft
      @sendtft  Před 2 měsíci

yup I agree, the start of each set the biggest learning to do is learn which units are strong early game holders for what items, and then which units take the items late game

I like the video idea, but:
Advice #1 counts for every set including set 10. Which aligns with the title of the video, but not really the intro of the video which implies you're going to talk specifically about set 11.
The part about not buying units on your rolldown is complete nonsense? The thing you point out is a specific thing that can be a mistake, but the conclusion that you shouldn't buy units is wrong. At your rank, you should know yourself that people do this to thin out the pool as they roll for a specific unit. I imagine if someone is still used to set 10, their rolldown intuition is going to be pretty shot and they will frequently fail to pivot where previously they would have succeeded. So I'm sure you saw plenty of random rolldowns on pbe that gave you inspiration for this video, but you can't generally say that buying a variety of units on the rolldown is purely a mistake. Levelling and putting in a random extra unit will often be a mistake, but that's not the general conclusion you give in the video.
Advice #3 is fine (though it would be more interesting to also get a nuanced perspective on when it's okay to level at 8xp, i.e. when maybe you're one of two winstreakers and you haven't faced the other winstreaker yet or something)

Hi I really appreciate the feedback!
sounds like you’re okay with 1&3, but 1 isn’t clear enough that it’s not general advice from the intro, and you want some insight into more specific situations.
it’s definitely meant as general advice, apologies for confusion that it was tailored to set 11. I think maybe confusion came from me mentioning I’ve seen the mistakes on PBE a lot. on the second part I can definitely do a video on that kind of thing, this was just meant to be 3 general mistakes I see
second takeaway is that you think point 2 is untrue.
I think as it’s my first time making these videos and perhaps my point for #2 has come across poorly. i think framing it as a mistake is perhaps confusing because whilst it is an optimisation to hold every single unit on roll down I just think it hurts the players doing it more than helps.
i also think you’ve understood my point as don’t buy units on rolldowns rather than don’t buy irrelevant units on rolldowns. don’t get me wrong I also think you should buy lots of units, but just relevant ones, even in the example I’m only not including ap 4 cost carries in my roll down, I’m still buying all possibly playable units.
i should have mentioned the + side of holding all units (thinning pool) as you mentioned, so in this scenario holding morgs and syndras might help me thin pool to hit my carry, but I do generally believe that the optimisation of doing this has less benefit than the confusion it can cause to the general player
i don’t think I made this point clear in the video so thanks for letting me clarify and thanks for giving me feedback!

@@sendtft Great response! Honestly as a new TFT player, I've watched a few guides on gameplay fundamentals and econ but I don't remember this particular topic being discussed. I managed to figure out from watching other players the purpose of the tactic, but when I tried to implement it in my games it just made me way dizzier at first. I've gotten more used to it, but sticking to units applicable to the comp I am playing is good advice that I'll try moving forward. I agree the point could have been clearer in this video, but I just wanted to chime in to let you know your intuition was right about at least one player! Thanks for the great content send, keep it up!

It really is a death wish, if you don't hit you're pretty much forced to dog-roll every turn to 0 gold with no econ :'( defo true about the items! For ghostly I would only really play 2 (morg + kayn), the higher traits (4,6,8) seem to be quite weak in my opinion! Kayn items are damage/bruiser so units such as Gnar can hold them well!
