It’s a lovely part of the world, I live about 40 mins away from the shoot, the drive over is so pretty. The birds can be high and challenging, gives something for everyone. On flatter ground they’ll always be lower, confidence boost though as you’ll hit more 😂

So sad that the season is over with. Clay shooting starts in a few months, other bits to squeeze in before that. Odd having weekends free again

Thank you😊 The flushes are pretty epic, always a fab show of birds, some very challenging. Good old Boris, he’s very sweet isnt he. He stayed much longer this time, normally he flies away quite quickly. I did read that if you add a box it could scare him off? Just doesn’t look very comfy on the metal frame for him to sit. Think he’s been there around 6 months. Thank you 💥
In the US we call maize corn,and it seems that most of the birds prefer to be in the corn fields.I suppose they get most of their nutrition from the corn,but are more difficult to flush from the grass,and trees?
It always fascinates me how our words differ 😂 In the UK if someone said corn, I would think maize or corn on the cob depending on the context. Much easier to flush from cover crops whether it’s kale, maize or the likes. We tend to push woods through to get the birds into the cover crops

Another season over Hope you have A great beaters day we have got ours tomorrow and Thursday. I think I scare more birds when I'm shooting than when I'm Beating
This made me laugh far too hard😂😂 I feel the same, the birds on the drives for our beaters day were incredibly high, the lead is insane. I do a lot of air bashing but it’s all good fun. Hope you’re beaters day went well
So what comes next now that this season is done? Any hunting for yourself? Any Big game?
I have lots of things lined up..have to wait and see 😝
