- Come and join me on a simulated game day with Devon Clay Shooting. Carswell is located on the south coast of Devon with beautiful scenery and breath taking views.
We were very lucky to have a sunshine filled day start to finish…yes you heard that correctly, it stopped raining in the UK for once!
I am joined by the wonderful Kelly (aka best peg buddy) along with hosts Jason and Tony.

I am backkkkk! Sorry, been very very busy and there is always a lull after the season ends. This was a fabulous day, we were very lucky with the weather and the view were insane!

The laughter is infectious and the speed of reloading and shooting was awesome. I am in australia but interested to know how often would they put on shoot, and the cost for what appears to be a whole day out with morning tea, lunch and drinks. It would seem a lovely farm that also expands their revenue by hosting a shoot like this

Devon Clay Shooting run shoots most weekends, I think it’s a case of if you would a day you need to pick what dates are available, they tend to get booked up early in the year. This day cost £195pp plus cartridges (bring your own).
Beautiful farm. Looks like you had a great day out shooting. One can get a lot of work done with a 20 gauge, 7/8 oz loads(24 gram?). It’s my favorite for small birds and clays. I don’t believe I’ve ever used 21 gram (3/4 oz) loads, although I might look for some to try on American skeet.
How is the newly modified stock working out?
John Denver is always great for a sing a long.
Honestly it’s the prettiest spot on a sunny day. It was so much fun, we laughed all day. I’ve always used 71/2 21g, Hull are moving to 71/2 22g due to a change but anything more isn’t really needed on clays and the 21g are much kinder to my shoulder. The stock is much better thank you, however I do need to practice and have some lessons as it is completely different but feels so much more natural 💥🙌🏼
Great day for you two ladies, well done. The 20 bore (gauge) is my favorite to shoot, I load my own 7/8oz (24 gram) and 3/4oz (21 gram) all the time, for clays. How is the new comb working for you?
Thank you 🙌🏼 we had such a good time. The new comb raiser is going well, I think I am still tilting my head though so I need to practice with that a little bit
