I think Luke does a good job on commentating to be fair, he’s very knowledgable about the racers. I don’t think we’ll ever see an American style commentator over here 😅
@@mk1kieran fair comment from a participant , but the paying spectators don't really care about everyones personal history. They need EXCITMENT!!!!....louder voice...quick simple discriptions...Example: that s phil evans in the mk1 escort, powerd by 4cyl turbo, on the left, going up against robert fuller in the " beast" 6 cyl jaguar with a shot of nitrous...whos it gonna be!!!

We pay good money for entertainment, and a very knowleadgable old school proffessor can be dreary to listen to.
Sorry .no offence meant, but i guarantee if you made a change and asked the crowd who they prefer, the louder " boxing ring announcer" personality would win hands down.
As long as he/ she is familiar, or studied the cars, specs, drivers beforehand, it will make the world of difference.
I know this, from experience, i have hosted many events myself, spanning a 25 year drag racing career.
