Rise of Iron is Destiny final major DLC according to Bungie. The quality is almost as good as Taken King's. The story is interesting, and the storytelling is much better than the base game because of it's cutscenes and mission structure. It's unfortunate that they keep telling side stories and don't connect them in a bigger narrative. Aside from this main quest, there are other side missions and strikes to do.
The wall which stood for centuries along the southern border of Old Russia has collapsed, a battle-scorched reminder that our enemies still seek to destroy us all. Fallen mutants now scavenge the tombs of the Golden Age, and the plague they have unearthed in the wastes is more dangerous than even they understand. Join Lord Saladin. Journey into the Plaguelands. To make a long story short, basically Felwinter lead the iron lords into a trap, because SIVA could make a new golden age. And Rasputin placed a trap for Felwinter aka SIVA because before Felwinter was a guardian he was a Seraph. Something like Rasputin's kid, Rasputin made him half warmind half exo. But non of this was explained till today in D2 when the Felwinter's Lie came out and you could acquire the lore.
U know you could of just ruined that for people who wanted to find out on their own

Felwinter was a Cigata Golem
Jealousy, envy, rage, guilt and remorse. Rasputin became an more than just a planet defense sub routine A.I.
If Felwinter had not become a Light bearer the events would have turned out very differently. The Iron Lords might be the villains and Rasputin acted in self defense.
The Iron Lords Battle at the start just hits you in the gut.

@Yoda D1 was shit for the most part wgat are you on lol, the base game was cool and the expansions were fun but that's about it. Only the raids and expansions stories were consistent, multiple stuff locked behind paywalls and other dumb money grabbing shit

they did say that in the beggining there were only Iron Lords and that more than a 100 iron Lords entered the plaguelands but only eight reach the replication chamber. Now there are over 1000 Iron Lords working with the Vanguard.

Things I miss from D1...Randomly rolled scope options on snipers and grenade and horseshoes perk on rockets. Also I love how Saladin acts like this expansion never happened when you talk to him in D2.

Simple, as with The Taken King, finding & paying the original 6 VAs for just a few lines in the cutscenes is not worth the effort & resourses. Having only the Ghost/Nolan North doing all the talking for your different characters is much simplier.

It has some flaws, yes, the protagonist is silent and the ghost is talking instead of him, makes me feel like a puppet. They are sometimes talking about things that are not there. But I love the music and the style so much. In fact, this reminds me of Wh 40k :D
