Or maybe at this point Krist was just falling all over himself to try and make people, his friend Kurt especially, think he had a positive view of Courtney? You know, since like, around this time it had come out that he and his wife skipped their wedding and just 2 months before this, backed Steve Albini during a shouting match with Courtney at Pachyderm Studios that she needed to leave and that no one around Nirvana liked her? Maybe it makes me a "Kurt Stan," whatever the fuck that means, to think this way but what do you THINK Courtney would say in a conversation with Krist, L7 and others about Bosnian rape victim's, "fuck um, who cares?" This doesn't exactly turn Courtney into a mensch just because she backed the idea of a benefit. That her band played on. Where she sat on stage in full view of everyone during Nirvana's set. Making sure fucking EVERYONE in front of the stage and behind it KNEW that she "called Jennifer Finch and helped put it together." Also that Hole were recording Kurt's, I mean her, new record. 😝 I'd rather be a Kurt Stan than a Courtney Simp.
SUMMARY: "In this interview with Nirvana, they discuss their involvement in a benefit concert to raise awareness and money for the atrocities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The money raised will go directly to the Croatian Women's Group and other women's aid projects. The women's center in Zagreb will offer sensitive help and counseling to the trauma victims. Nirvana emphasizes that rape in war is a global issue and often goes unprosecuted, but they believe this benefit concert is a step towards changing that. They hope that by raising awareness, they can turn the tide against rape and encourage more prosecution of it as a war crime. The interview touches on the patriarchal society of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where women are often taken advantage of, and the center will provide a safe place for women to speak out and learn to live a different way. They also mention that the concert will include the Disposable Heroes and The Breeders and that the money raised will be used immediately."
