  • This tutorial is for a poly burlap mesh sunflower wreath. This is one of my new designs for 2020. I add a piece of ribbon to every other petal to give the wreath an updated look. The possibilities are endless because there are so many ribbon choices you can use to compliment your wreath!
    The finished wreath is approximately 23 inches in diameter.
    Materials needed for flower:
    Cutting Mat
    Rotary Cutter
    Pipe Cleaners
    Scissors
    10 inch box wire wreath frame
    12 pieces of 1 1/2 inch wired ribbon, cut 14 inches long
    Poly Burlap mesh of your choice (10 inch by 10 yard rolls. I do not recommend cutting down the 21 inch by 10 yard rolls because of excessive fraying.)
    For the flower as shown, I used:
    12 pieces of white cut 10x10 inches
    12 pieces of black cut 10x10 inches

    Wow! That is beautiful! Can’t wait to try. Do you have to use poly burlap or can you use regular mesh?

    • @JKatsKreations

      Thank you! Poly burlap or paper mesh can be used for this. Deco mesh is too thin and would require a lot more pieces.

      JKatsKreations Wreaths, where do I get poly burlap? I’ve not seen it at ACMoore, which sadly is closing, but I really have not searched it out. Do you think Michael’s would carry it? I do purchase from Craft Outlet also. Thanks again for teaching us this beautiful wreath and bow!! You do such a great job explaining everything.

      Poly burlap and paper mesh are both sold on craftoutlet.com They aren't sold in regular craft stores. You can also try trendytree.com or thewreathshop.com if craft outlet is sold out of the colors you're looking for. Poly burlap can go in and out of stock quickly sometimes so it can be a pain at times getting it.

    I really, really need help with my bows! Have you ever used the “pro bow” bow maker? I can seem to keep both sides even with the bow dabra

    • @JKatsKreations
      @JKatsKreations  Před 4 lety

      I have used the pro bow and it does make a beautiful bow but I found the size to be too big for my work space.

      Try the ez-bow maker it has marks for measurements and works better than the bow dabra. It is not as expensive or large as the pro bow the hand

    What is the difference between regular deco mesh and poly burlap mesh?

    • @JKatsKreations
      @JKatsKreations  Před 4 lety +2

      Poly burlap is a thicker material with a waxy plasticy coating while deco mesh is much thinner and pretty much straight plastic. They're both pretty durable and weather resistant. Poly burlap is generally quite a bit more expensive per roll as well. It really just comes down to the "look" you're going for and they each have different methods mostly because poly burlap is so much thicker. You'll need less of it but as I said it's more expensive than deco mesh. Hope this helps! 😊
