Nickolas Robert Diaz (born August 2, 1983) is an American professional mixed martial artist who competes in the middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Diaz is a former Strikeforce, WEC and IFC welterweight champion and a UFC title challenger. He also notably competed in PRIDE, EliteXC, DREAM, and Shooto. Nick is the older brother of fellow UFC fighter Nate Diaz, with the pair of brothers being one of the biggest influences in the sport of MMA.

I’ve been watching boxing and fighting since I was 10. I’m now 56. I have seen many of Nick’s fights because he has always came to fight. Thank you for all the moments Nick and you will not be forgotten. You are one of the greatest fighters I have ever had the pleasure of watching. The fight game has a big void to fill losing you. OG of the MMA game. Always a Diaz fan and I still remember watching Sylva get a year suspension for actual PED while Nick gets shit on. 5 years suspension for smoking wacky tobaccy. Nicks always been my favorite fighter. He was the most well rounded and had cardio for days. If it was unlimited rounds and refs couldnt stop it due to cuts, he would have won practically every fight after the loss to jackson

He was done dirty time after time, the games these organizations play with these fighter's that were seeing more of today, with terrible calls from judges and all the hoops certain fighter's go through, but big names like ones Dana White favors, are allowed to get away with anything, with minimal to zero repercussions! Look at Conor and Jon Jones they just do what they please, Regardless both Diaz Brothers are the badest in the game! You clearly see so many other fighter's have a ton of respect for both brothers and they all know these boys don't play games, they come to fight !
