Antonio how are you? Great video I wear sneakers all the time with all of my shorts even my dress shorts. I think they are better then loafers and especially flip flops sandals and boat shoes. I also. wear them with medium wash jeans. I don’t wear them with dark jeans and suits obviously.
The minimal dress sneakers especially the white ones look totally gangster. I really hate when guys wear suits and they pair them with sneakers. It ruins them especially on tv!
The only time I ever wear sneakers or running shoes is at the gym. Never out in public and NEVER with a suit.
Isn't the gym technically public? 😂
Amen 🙏 to your statement. I wear them with performance joggers when I go out for a run. That's as far as it goes for me.
I wear them 7/24
You are really missing something here by completely avoiding sneakers in public. You should at least have a pair of clean minimal leather sneakers in a neutral colour on hand for days you are doing a ton of walking around in public or when you just maybe on your feet for most of the day. It will help preserve your nicer leather dress shoes and boots and make them last longer by not putting a ton unnecessary mileage on them.
Sneakers are like a beater watch. Running shoes+suit is a combo I only seen on lgbt ppl going for that anticonservative style.
So... When are you going to tell us crocs are ok too?
Or sandals
Those shoes will always look great with a G-Shock
Being a runner for the past 50 years, I wouldn’t call these ‘running shoes/sneakers’
A comfortable ‘street shoe’? Absolutely…..a stylish shoe? Definitely
Running shoes are structured to accommodate constant heavy foot/heel pavement strikes and manage foot stability for many, many miles….
Would I buy a pair of these shoes for casual wear? Why not?
I am happy to finally see what I will call, a 180. Running shoes and athleisure clothing is here and probably here to stay. I work from home on most days and on weekends I'm at my kids soccer games. Many men have a similar lifestyle or one that just doesn't call for suits. But many of the rules regarding fit and function still applies. We still need to understand how to match colors and etc. I'm hoping to see more videos geared towards casual/athleisure wear.
I just recently bought a pair of bright colored Hoka running shoes in an orange and blue colorway. Looks great with my casual blue slim fit suit. The key is to pair them with complimentary colors.
Absolutely…when done with these guidelines in mind. Excellent topic!
I have to say I was at a wedding in Italy 2 weeks ago with a lot of stylish Italian guys and every single one of them wore a casual suit with white sneakers. Not a dress shoe insight (apart from mine 😅)
Good video. Very informative. I’m in my 50s and grew up on the coast. I’m never giving up my Vans.
The problem lies on guys wearing them for a formal occasion, or literally everywhere. Some older guys lost the sense of propriety when it comes to sneakers
Unless we're ready to run barefoot too, there are very few sneaker brands that do a good job. And unfortunately, in recent years with cost pressure and style (they have a different understanding of style than you) pressure, the quality of sneakers has declined in many cases. In addition, they modified the shape according to the same criteria so that it is much more difficult to find suitable shoes. The only good criterion is to fit as well as possible with the real shapes of the foot. An example: most new shoes come off my feet like a slippers, even if it's a fixed size. In the past, even big numbers didn't come off your feet.
That being said, some people, can't really choose something that is both functional and looks good.
I feel this video as a betrayal to the guys who want to be stylish. There is absolutely no freaking excuse to wear running shoes with pants, jeans, chinos, etc. OK for a walk in nature, sports and...well, running. There is gazillion options for sneakers to wear with clothes for going out.
You’re exposing your own lack of style and creativity.
Totally agree. Antonio is betraying himself.
In the 70’s/80’s my Dad wore brogues for work. Outside work, he wore navy or gray Nike Waffle Trainers(Internationalist), dark jeans with a white or pale blue pinpoint oxford. He always looked put together.
Been upping the style in my wardrobe with all your great videos, and I’m loving it. I’m definitely not going back to running shoes!
Sneakers are part of women commercial and business attire since years now in Belgium. I feel I can now safely transition and follow their lead in this. Air max all the way. Not with suits tho. But they will match straight or boot legged dark pants or chinos and combine really well with rolled up sleeves button up shirt and my favorite: with fine knit cashmere jumper and some juwelry adapted to the sneaker color code.
I don’t even wear sneakers for daily footwear. I like to be one step above from sneakers without going into formal territory
Make your kicks work for you! Keep them clean, and coordinate with the outfit. Lol, that clip cleaning the laces took me back to high school 😂.
Sneakers don't go with suits.
athleisure -- not for me. being overused and looks ugly in offices. cant buy
Running shoes are very comfortable and they add some design to a casual look too. Plus they can be a cool retro throwback.
Seriously? Come on.
I wear running shoes with a blazer or sportcoat all the time. Walking stylishly is an underrated activity. If I don’t have to wear some technical clothing because of the weather, why not wear a nice jacket? Life is already super casual but it’s 2024: every style is valid. Just sayin’.
In a white collar business meeting? Sure, oxfords or other dress shoes.
There are NB, Adidas, and Pumas that are not gym/workout shoes, but give that vibe that are so, so much better. Sport sneakers, good, running shoes other than working out, bad.
I always wear running shoes. They have the best cushioning. If I have to go somewhere where I have to dress semi formal then I wear smart sneakers.
Hi Antonio! Loved the video! I think someone may have copied it word by word and made another one, where can I send you the link? It’s super distasteful. Again, loved the video!
I was paid to run 3-4 times a week. I had all sorts of running shoes. After 28 years, I'd had enough. Once I was no longer being paid to run, I stopped. Threw all my sneakers in the garbage. Never going back. 😂
I wonder how it will be Before he starts tell us Square toe shoes are really the best kind to buy
I wear New Balance for long walks. Great shoes. I have them in a dusty black.
I only wear what I call retro runners, like Nike Internationalist, Aciscs Gel Lyte 3 and 5 and so on, no 90's models, the chunky dad shoes or the modern.... realm running shoes.
Hey! What about PF Flyers? With the action wedge built right in to make you run faster and jump higher?
I'm approaching 40 and wear my ultraboosts with everything except formalwear. I have chucks and minimal leather sneakers for formalwear.
Leather shoes and boots look better and last longer than them, but they're simply a lot more comfortable. I haven't worn my dress shoes and boots ever since sneakers are getting more and more acceptable in social circles.

07:04 🔍 The first rule for styling running shoes: keep it casual. Pair them with other casual clothing unless setting a trend in your own company.
08:04 🎨 Color coordination is key. Choose between darker shoes for a cohesive look or lighter/bright shoes for a fun, standout style.
08:47 ✨ Cleanliness is crucial. Avoid wearing worn-out running shoes as fashion items; maintain clean, well-kept pairs for a polished look.
09:25 😊 Running shoes can be stylish and practical, especially for those with foot issues. Comfort and appearance can go hand in hand.
I always find it funny seeing people wear sneakers like ON or Hoka that never have any intentions to run in them. As someone who runs I think its kinda tacky when there are so many options that are meant for real performance. But hey to each its own. You can wear whatever you want. They are snazzy looking. Good content

Brother,
As you said: the watch word is consistency.
If you are going to wear sneakers/trainers, then where appropriate kit. Jeans, open collar or polo shirts, even a blazer. Otherwise, wear shoes or boots. The end.

Running shoes and sneakers are two different things.
*Track shoes NEVER can be worn for style. Antonio compromises himself for a sponsor.*
The time to wear "running" shoes is when you go for a run. FULL STOP.
Man up and buy walking shoes for walking, dress shoes for suits, hiking shoes for hiking, tennis shoes for tennis, boat shoes for boating, and so on.
Overly engineered shoes will cause imbalances in your musculature, which will lead to posture and kinetic chain injury over time. Knee and hip replacements will be in the cards for many as they age owing to wearing high-priced cushon-y sports shoes as daily wear.
Cushioning and high arches are terrible for you.
If this were not so, there would not be wide toe-box, zero-drop shoes. Such shoes recruit and fire the right muscles with each step.
Overly engineered muscles recruit the wrong muscles and transfer loads to joints.
I'm wearing a sky blue linen short sleeve shirt with beige short chinos and pairing with some white Hugo Boss Evo runners. Definitely works for summer.
After getting used to minimalistic shoes, all popular ordinary shoes are simply uncomfortable.
Date with a hipster chick warned me through a friend “he better not wear running shoes with jeans” 😂. Looked at my attire that day & never did so again.
Hipster’s are probably the least stylish people in history 😂
Pro tip: nike lets you customize yr sneakers
I'm not wearing running shoes with a suit.
Like casual shoes without obtrusive brand marks or logo, something mono chromatic.
Running shoes. It's on the name. Pair them with shorts and... RUN. 👀
I have 20 pair of running shoes all the brightest colorways I can find. They match nothing and I love em
Loud and proud eh
It takes just as much effort to dress well as it does to wear sneakers and sweatpants....
I'm not seeing it. There are foam sole chelsea boots that do the same thing for casual wear, but better. Look up Mongrel K9 boots.
Knew your heart wouldn’t be in this as it was trainers. Style- to me at least is about being comfortable too, inside and out. This feels like my dad wearing crocs. 😬
Sorry, but these are not actual RUNNING shoes - or actual sports shoes for thar matter. Your're not really meant to practice sports with them. It's ok to wear them if you like the style, but there are many boat shoes, driving shoes, moccasins and even dress sneakers that are incredibly comfortable.
Don't know if they are considered running shoes but I'll wear my Nike leather Cortez with athliesure wear.
Running shoes are not for anything other then participating in sports. Even then they are over priced poorly made, low quality materials, garbage.
Nonsense. Runners demand performance and durability, and wont buy shoes that dont contain those qualities. If company A makes poor quality running shoes, then company B steals their lunch with better tech and materials. The one thing you have correct is that I am sure they could be cheaper.
As if they’re made to be run through in short order: performance > durability
@@ExJapTer Tactical boots, most leather boots / leather shoes all surpass any running shoes for quality/durability. Companies such as Nike make poor quality disposable products.
I'll run and train in my tactical boots before wasting money on running shoes. The only reason to buy over priced poor quality light weight shoes is if you are actually competing and a fraction of a second might make a difference. But the average person would be better off not wasting their money.
@@va6gkthaskey311 you jog regularly in tactical boots? Interesting. Please make a youtube video of your most recent marathon in tactical boots. Apparently serious runners have been wrong all along! Enlighten us!
@@ExJapTer I use to run marathons in them till I had a stroke 🤷. Slowly getting going again but all you have to do is look at every military out there. They put more miles with more weight then the average person
im so shocked i dont know what to say...
It's not bad vibes, but each style is a clear copy of New Balance and Reebok, also Convers and Vans and Adidas has nothing original or new technology, I prefer these brands
They are not
Running shoes are for running, nothing to do with style.
NARROW toe box.......make them Foot shaped!
Those sneakers by Nothing New are pretty slick.
Wake up babe, Antonio just uploaded a Lore video about running shoes.
Bah humbug, running shoes are great for running or the gym but they have no place outside of that. Fashion my...
Please stop saying “gents”. It’s annoying.
Nice shoes.
Thanks!
🙈🙉🙊
Shoes are BORING.
1st comment...?
Running shoes are only for sweats with a hoody or just the gym.
Ah. NO, NO, NO. 😂😂😂
