Antonio how are you? Great video I wear sneakers all the time with all of my shorts even my dress shorts. I think they are better then loafers and especially flip flops sandals and boat shoes. I also. wear them with medium wash jeans. I don’t wear them with dark jeans and suits obviously.
The minimal dress sneakers especially the white ones look totally gangster. I really hate when guys wear suits and they pair them with sneakers. It ruins them especially on tv!

You are really missing something here by completely avoiding sneakers in public. You should at least have a pair of clean minimal leather sneakers in a neutral colour on hand for days you are doing a ton of walking around in public or when you just maybe on your feet for most of the day. It will help preserve your nicer leather dress shoes and boots and make them last longer by not putting a ton unnecessary mileage on them.

Being a runner for the past 50 years, I wouldn’t call these ‘running shoes/sneakers’
A comfortable ‘street shoe’? Absolutely…..a stylish shoe? Definitely
Running shoes are structured to accommodate constant heavy foot/heel pavement strikes and manage foot stability for many, many miles….
Would I buy a pair of these shoes for casual wear? Why not?

I am happy to finally see what I will call, a 180. Running shoes and athleisure clothing is here and probably here to stay. I work from home on most days and on weekends I'm at my kids soccer games. Many men have a similar lifestyle or one that just doesn't call for suits. But many of the rules regarding fit and function still applies. We still need to understand how to match colors and etc. I'm hoping to see more videos geared towards casual/athleisure wear.

Unless we're ready to run barefoot too, there are very few sneaker brands that do a good job. And unfortunately, in recent years with cost pressure and style (they have a different understanding of style than you) pressure, the quality of sneakers has declined in many cases. In addition, they modified the shape according to the same criteria so that it is much more difficult to find suitable shoes. The only good criterion is to fit as well as possible with the real shapes of the foot. An example: most new shoes come off my feet like a slippers, even if it's a fixed size. In the past, even big numbers didn't come off your feet.
That being said, some people, can't really choose something that is both functional and looks good.

Sneakers are part of women commercial and business attire since years now in Belgium. I feel I can now safely transition and follow their lead in this. Air max all the way. Not with suits tho. But they will match straight or boot legged dark pants or chinos and combine really well with rolled up sleeves button up shirt and my favorite: with fine knit cashmere jumper and some juwelry adapted to the sneaker color code.

00:00 🏃‍♂ The speaker emphasizes he loves running shoes despite often advising against them in style videos.
00:21 👟 He shares his extensive personal history with running and wearing running shoes, highlighting his deep familiarity and love for them.
01:08 🧐 The video aims to explore how to style running shoes effectively.
01:18 🇬🇧 In 1895, J.W. Foster & Sons in the UK began making footwear specifically for running, incorporating spikes for better grip.
01:55 🏀 Converse, founded in 1908, used rubber soles for basketball shoes, leading to quieter, more grippy footwear.
02:21 🇩🇪 Adidas, founded by Adolf Dassler, revolutionized mass production of performance-enhancing shoes.
02:34 🏅 Nike, originally Blue Ribbon Sports, introduced the innovative waffle sole in the 1960s.
03:09 🎨 In the 1980s and 1990s, running shoes started featuring vibrant colors and designs, becoming iconic due to athlete endorsements.
03:24 💥 The athleisure trend, combining athletic and leisure apparel, significantly boosted the popularity of running shoes as fashion items.
04:57 🌱 The speaker promotes "Nothing New," a brand making sustainable sneakers from recycled materials, emphasizing their style and comfort.
05:09 🧘‍♂ Athleisure, a trend starting in the late 1990s, blends athletic and leisure wear, driven by a desire for comfort, functionality, and style.
05:36 👔 Over time, fashion trends, even in formal wear like suits, have shifted towards more comfortable fabrics.
06:03 🏡 The rise of remote work and constant media presence of celebrities in casual wear have popularized athleisure.
06:20 👟 Running shoes evolved into fashion statements, initially seen negatively but later embraced and improved by companies.
06:36 ✨ Iconic models like Nike Air Max, Adidas UltraBoost, and New Balance 990 became both comfortable and stylish staples.
07:04 🔍 The first rule for styling running shoes: keep it casual. Pair them with other casual clothing unless setting a trend in your own company.
08:04 🎨 Color coordination is key. Choose between darker shoes for a cohesive look or lighter/bright shoes for a fun, standout style.
08:47 ✨ Cleanliness is crucial. Avoid wearing worn-out running shoes as fashion items; maintain clean, well-kept pairs for a polished look.
09:25 😊 Running shoes can be stylish and practical, especially for those with foot issues. Comfort and appearance can go hand in hand.

*Track shoes NEVER can be worn for style. Antonio compromises himself for a sponsor.*
The time to wear "running" shoes is when you go for a run. FULL STOP.
Man up and buy walking shoes for walking, dress shoes for suits, hiking shoes for hiking, tennis shoes for tennis, boat shoes for boating, and so on.
Overly engineered shoes will cause imbalances in your musculature, which will lead to posture and kinetic chain injury over time. Knee and hip replacements will be in the cards for many as they age owing to wearing high-priced cushon-y sports shoes as daily wear.
Cushioning and high arches are terrible for you.
If this were not so, there would not be wide toe-box, zero-drop shoes. Such shoes recruit and fire the right muscles with each step.
Overly engineered muscles recruit the wrong muscles and transfer loads to joints.
