Button down shirt, dark straight cut jeans, and a sports jacket is my go-to style.
Solid outfit! What shoes do you wear with it?
@@RealMenRealStyle crocs of course.. Yut
Dark wash jeans, darker brown boots, patterned button-down shirt with blue tones, brown jacket, and brown flat cap is my go-to uniform.
Good summary. The only jeans that makes it into the smart casual range are those you don't recognize as jeans (denim) at first sight.
My problem with straight jeans is they don't taper, therefore don't look right on most of my footwear, and also they tend to give that "Dad Jeans" look. I usually get athletic or slim fit.
Same. I'm a big fan of athletic taper fit
Straight jeans are for boots. Skip boot cut jeans all together.
The main shoes I wear are Nike sneakers, casual sneakers, lace up or chelsea boots, and cowboy boots and my Levi 514 straight fit works with all of them. I have different color slim/straight jeans for season change and some boots but mainly mid to dark wash jeans for me.
If your a big guy with a belly, a sweater will accentuate your big belly. If you do wear that combo, add a sports coat to take the attention away from the gut
I believe that the jackets worn at the 5:55 and the 8:50 mark would pair well with a nice pair of dark denim jeans.
I know this may sound weird for a fashion channel but check your local work wear store and see if they have any Roper jeans. As the name implies these are intended for cowboys but are generally in a nice, dark indigo and, if you're wearing it for the office, a slightly looser fit in the seat and thighs for when you're sitting down.
Brand new dark indigo or black with no fading what so ever jeans are a great look. Wash them inside out in cold water using the gentle cycle to keep them from losing any color.
Cheers
I'm not sure if you ever covered this specific type of video, but I'd love to see a video on the quality of jean as opposed to the style/ fit/ colour/ length, etc. For example, I usually wear levis 569 or literally 1 size bigger 559, because I have big thighs and big ass, but if i get a slimmer cut to fit my thighs, the waist is too big, so I have a few new ones in my closet since my options are limited. Over the covid lockdowns, my dad got into jeans, like salvage jeans, where the jeans itself is made from the ends of the cloth roll, so the seams are different and other quality jeans, which I can't remember (some very thick Japanese and italian brands I believe that are like $300 a pair as opposed to $40-$65 for levis) He'd go on and on about jeans. He gave me a pair of salvage jeans after going through a bunch to actually get one to fit me somewhat (it's still way tighter than 569 or 559 levis tho)... I'd love to see you cover jean quality in a video so I can talk about it with my dad.
ANY outfit? Jeans for black tie affair: go.
Nice try :) You can only break this rule with a black suit.
"Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots and ruined your black tie affair!"
Garth Brooks
I’ve found the Wrangler cowboy cut to be the jean that fits me best. I don’t think I would wear jeans for a more formal event. For bar or club attire I like a light bleached jean and a creme, burgundy, light blue, or grey henley. For shoes I go with a cinnamon brown suede / rough out Vans high top, or something like a palladium leather ankle boot.
I bought a levis jeans in petrol green or blue colour it looks great.
Basically...
1) Straight cut and
2) Darks (navy, black) are the safest choices to add to your wardrobe. 🎉
Weather is usually really bad where I live so I wear black jeans, black lace up boots and a heavy parka jacket. I never wear jeans with a sports jacket. Too big clash of formality imo. Full suit or chinos with sports jackets.
I wish i had this information 10 years ago. I remember buying some 38x32 skinny jeans (not knowing about the cut, just the size). And i went to a conference wearing them. I looked like a cone (the jeans were too skinny and I was very plump and i was wearing a shirt with big squares). Two months later i discovered this CZcams channel. I'm still improving, but sometimes i make such obvious mistakes.
My office look for meetings with online marketing companies where people tend to be in their 20's and 30's and would be wearing jeans and fleeces:
white OCBD, dark no rinse selvedge denim (slightly tapered, but not tight on my highly developed calves from playing soccer. Loved the fit so much I bought 3 of them incase the model gets discontinued) Navy blazer (usually unconstructed with patch pockets, sometimes in winter a navy cashmere blazer that's like a jersey material from Loro Piana) shoes. usually, JM Weston 180 Loafers (brown pebble grain, brown suede, burgundy) Alden Cordovan Longwings/Penny loafers (for that Ivy vibe), Alden Chukka boots, Belgians shoes (in summer without socks)
But in winter I like to wear the same brand of jeans in a slighter lighter one wash with a navy turtle neck and navy double breasted flannel blazers. The slightly lighter wash of the jeans to break down the monotonous look of the dark navy knit and blazer.
But that's for casual business meetings where if I wore regular business attire, I stick out and look out of place.
Just switching out the pants for jeans changes the mood....
Then again, switching to jeans means different type of belt, socks, bags, outer wear....little things add up.
White, cotton Oxford shirts look good with nearly any simple denim jeans and casual shoes; --such as boots, loafers, plain sneakers, or desert boots. Boom. Oh yeah. ;-)
I own just three pairs of jeans. 2 dark wash and 1 black. I can count on one hand how many times a month I wear them.
You've said it before ...and it's my mantra!! "Fit is King!!"... I hated the 'slim fit' look and I still hate the 'loose' look.... If Cary Grant, Steve McQueen or James Dean wouldn't wear it, then neither will I !!!
Awesome video! Thanks Antonio!!!!!!
Glad you liked it!
What is the rule with mixing dark blues with black? I've been taught that you can't do it because it looks like a bruise.
Does any body know what model of black loafer that is @ 8:25?
Since covid I don't buy near as much, I now do lounge pants, comfort, functional but to dress nice I still have to dust off my Lucky or Calvin klein jeans
where do you mention what color tops & jeans as well as belts. I just had some goofball tell me not to wear navy blue with black denim wtf
Okay so I know it's sacrilege but I love wearing oxfords with denim -- now, hear me out; my rule when it comes to closed vs open lacing is simple: Closed Collar = Closed Lacing; Open Collar = Open Lacing. I like wearing my black denim with a charcoal grey turtleneck, a black sport coat with white flecks, and a pair of black cordovan quarter-brogue oxfords (and of course, a Stetson Whippet in the shade "caribou" lol). With my dark blue denim, I like wearing a brown tweed sport coat (or my brown bomber), a white or blue OCBD shirt, and either a pair of brown/tan oxfords or open laced boot, depending on if I choose to wear a tie of some sort (and, of course, a brown fedora lol).
The basic rule is that the formality of your outfit descends to the most casual element of the outfit. So even with the oxford shoes… Your outfit is going to be a jeans outfit… Which is not very dressed up. You can see that with one simple switch to a proper pair of slacks you would be two or three steps above the jeans look.
Sometimes I see men wearing a really nice outfit… And the only piece that really doesn’t work Is the pair of jeans. It’s like they are used to dressing up for work and wearing proper shoes and all of that and then they want to dress it down and they were a perfect pair of jeans and the whole look just doesn’t work.
Speaking of jeans does anyone have any recommendations for good quality jeans at a reasonable price? For me an easy choice is Abercrombie but they are constantly sold out of every cut of jeans in every color 🙃
I recommend Prison Blues.
Uniqlo stretch selvedge and the Unbranded brand jeans are good entry points for selvedge denim.
Yep , another video that will set the web on fire.
Did you use AI or old clips for some of the audio here? Something sounds off
9:29 Actually, just skip neon sneakers altogether. They only go with sweatpants, and shoes are expensive and need to be able to be worn with as many clothing combinations as possible.
So a 55+ year old should wear looser jeans?? Normal build! Sometimes loser jeans dressed up looks like a mistake in my opinion. Thoughts??
❤❤❤❤❤
Appreciate the love!
3:20 About a thousand or more Mexican’s would disagree with you Antonino as that is the current style but thankfully I’m not one of them
Nah things are starting to move back to a more fitted side especially with the old money trend being so popular lately
Two words: Alessandro Squarzi.
How to dress like JC Penny catalog
You can mix and match if you have signature pieces.
I generally like your content, but this video felt very rushed and sloppy. This could have been a short and it would have been of equal value. That's not to mention the abrupt cuts between scenes and wildly differing audio.
You do good work, but something went wrong here and I'm not sure what.
First ❤
Second! 😁
Get bootcut a couple of sizes up in the inseam. Cuff with casual shoes and get a nice stack with cowboy boots. I solely attribute my six figure salary and beautiful wife and child to this trick. You’re welcome.
Are u using an AI voice reader? Something sounds slightly off compared to your real life video sevmenfs.
loaffers and no socks, yeah, thats f no, thats a chad style
Back pockets. You said nothing about back pockets.. the trend has been to have large back pockets. Hides the butt. Comes from women's style to hide their flat asses. Wrangler and old Levi's had small pockets that show a good butt for guys
The drape of most denim is absolute trash and makes it unsuitable for anything other than the most casual wear. You have to bear in mind that quality has been eroded year by year for over 100 years now as legacy manufacturers look to make savings on every aspect of the production (fabric/construction etc). They've been value engineered over a century to the point that they bear no resemblance to the item that first became (rightly) a popular wardrobe staple. It's fair to say that early wearers of denim literally wouldn't recognise modern denim as the same category of cloth or garment.
You can style up to semi-formal (eg wear with sports coat) in very limited circumstances if you can find heavier, dark, raw denim in a flattering fit. Ideally it should be made on low tension looms (this assists with drape).
Generally though if attempted its done very badly. I'd say nearer to 8.5/10 times that jeans are "styled up" to pair with dressier garments they're a fail.
1000 percent right. The garments are made very poorly. 90 percent of the brands these influencers hawk feel like napkins when it comes to fabric quality. Influencers dress like puke 🤮
@sammyb1651: personally I only wear selvage denim, I recommend avoiding jeans with elastics.. but it takes a little time to break them in.
And I dress jeans never up, I choose another pants for these occasions..
I swear to God, every pair of jeans around is skinny
To much information.
Or you could just buy a pair of jeans that's the same color as you sweater/sports jacket. Wear em with dress shoes. Problem solved
Kind of a weird video: lots of repetitive points cut in from previous videos - not the same quality as previous videos... more of a copy & paste. Sorry, I normally am a big fan of your videos. I hope this isn't the future to get more videos turned out from prior ones.
Mmm is this a ladies channel?
A little wussy for me
