- Toyota Hilux long term review. The unbreakable Toyota Hilux with over 400,000 kilometres on the clock , How many problems with the Toyota Hilux now with over 400,000 kilometres traveled. Toyota pick up.
Owner of a N70 and can definitely confirm we are not over exaggerating when we say hilux are unbeatable for their value and just simply bulletproof Utes.
Until the 1KD cracks a piston
@@bobmarli6095doesn't happen if you look after them pistons are cheap
You'll hit 700k mate, keep up the maintenance.
Awesome mate, I just hit 200000km on my hilux, thinking that it’s probably on its last legs. But seeing reviews like yours, gives me confidence that it will last past 400000kms. Cheers
@mikoschannel6413 I have just hit 430,000ks and still going strong 💪
Awesome review, mate. My only criticism is: why the heck is your music five times louder than your voice? Kept having to turn the volume up and down every thirty seconds... super annoying. Otherwise, top stuff!
Thanks for the feedback.
I have the last one made 2015 SR5, the N 70. Hilux would have to be one of the best cars ever made in the last 20 years.
For sure mate 👍 just keep on working 💪
Excellent video mate! thank you. I had to laugh when the first broken thing was the radio at 320k ;D Yup that's a Hilux
Like a Honda Dirtbike ,never let you down!
true that..
I love these. Great owner's report!
Hi mate, here in Brazil we also love the toyota hilux. Mine is a 2009 SW4 (Fortuner) with 170.000 KM and going strong. It is also bullet proof, a necessity here in Sao Paulo
Good stuff mate 👍 hope you have as much fun as I have had in mine 👍
@@BrokenSprocket tkx man
What a rig mate, I love this addition to your channel also, dirt bikes & fourbies…. What more does a bloke need?!!!
Thanks mate appreciate the feed back.
great car mate
most new ones won’t last the distance like this 👌
It has been a great car so far.
She's a nice rig mate. But I beat you with the km's lol...I've got 455000 on mine. Purchased from new and had the factory services done until it was out of warranty. I now do my own servicing (I'm not a mechanic) but just doing the basics and looking after her and she's not missed a beat. I replaced the injectors at 300000, they were ok but were starting to go a little. I've upgraded the suspension (still have the factory bar with a winch, at a 2inch lift). I live in Nth Qld and do take it off road for camping and have done some knarly tracks to...the Gunshot as well. Still running the original factory alloys but have tried various AT tyres, found the Bridgestone Duellers the best for me with decent kms out of them. I've had an EGR clean and small chip installed at 300000 along with new injectors and had it dynoed and it it's only a very modest gain but it suits me and I'm still getting 9.5km per litre so well within what it was when it was new. Love my 2010 and hope to keep it for a little while longer, as I still think they look better than the newer models, just my opinion. Same colour as mine to.
Good stuff mate 👍 there a fantastic 4x4 keep up the survice and it will last.
This makes me feel pretty good just picked up one from my work it's ex company car and they were selling so I bought it.... Has 420k on it but been serviced better then factory recommends every 10k and still looks like almost new car
@@jackfisher3926 they just keep on going.
@@jackfisher3926good buy mate, I will pick up one of these soon too.
Amazing machine. Glad it's worked so well for you.
Thanks 👍
good i have vigo 2009 loved
Surprising it’s done that many km’s. The 1KD is known for cracking pistons due to a design fault by Toyota it will happen it’s just a matter of when.
Fingers crossed 🤞 so far so good 👍
Wouldn't mind buying one of these good car mate. I drive the prado 120 but I ride as well. I need a tub so I dont have to cart my trailer everytime. My brother has this car but a bit newer. Good cars! Tough as nails
Yeah mate it's been a fantastic 4x4 for me. You look after it and it will look after you.
@BrokenSprocket thats right mate TOYOTA. I maintain my machines very well.
What year
They are breakable, i own one , have broken it , but they break less than other utes 🤗
Nice rig and video!...care to share more details of your suspension lift? Did you do a diff drop and extended ball joints? Or just whack in springs and shocks?
Nice rig, the paint looks in top condition and I gather you’re fussy with maintenance. I’m ashamed to say Toyota do most of my services. I’ve done 260k in my N70 2013 and the bonnet has only been lifted for services, jumpstarts, fitting accessories or to fill up the washer bottle. Still got original clutch and its towed a small van aIl it’s life 2-3 times a year. I hoping to have a similar run to you but I should learn my vehicle and start doing my own services so I’m not totally clueless if something happens out bush.
Apart from the lemon factor, I think most of the problems people have with their fourbee are from loading them up, thrashing the arse out of them and or poor maintenance.
I also think autos help motors last longer too.
Yours will last because you don't do the things you just listed. If you look after your hilux it will look after you.
Worst thing i ever did was sell my n70 for a n80.
Had nothing but problems n70 was solid as.
I have had a great run with my Hilux.
This the 4 or 5 speed auto bud , love it 👍🏼
4 speed mate 👌
@@BrokenSprocket how do you find it , looking at one with the 4speed an was just worried at cruising speeds
@@harryridley2714 top gear is the same as 5 speed just bigger gap between gears.
would you opt for the manual if you could? @@BrokenSprocket
Sounds very promissing! =) I am looking at 2008 one without acsident recorded and 168000km on the clock.
Look after it and it will look after you.
@@BrokenSprocket Not mine (yet) xD
Have you doe the injectors? Mine has only done 160K and injectors very noisy on cold start, pretty disappointed in this aspect
No I still have original injectors.
great car mate, what about the fuel consumption with those tyres and lift kit?
About 10.2 to the 100km
Hi Steve are your wheels 15 inch or 16 inch ? As I would really love to run the same size on my Landcruiser Prado,
Cheers
15 inch 32/11.50/15
No problems? So what about injectors?
@Land_Cruiser_40 still original and working well 👌
Injectors aren’t the problem it’s the pistons which are weak under excessive heat either you get lucky or you don’t
I’ve got 700k on mine and never had a problem with the pistons haha
Nice. do you still have your n70?
Yes I do and still no problems 😊
@@BrokenSprocket that’s really impressive! Just got my N70 3.0 1kd 4x4 a/t with 93k km on the clock. Feeling good about owning this for a long long time.
Hi Mate, just wanna know about timing belt and transmission, didn't you change it yet? Cheers really appreciate
Hi mate timing belt every 150,000 ks a light should come on in the dash to let you know its time to replace the belt. I service the transmission at 30,000ks.
@@BrokenSprockethey man, does the timing belt look worn by the 150k kms? I have mine with 140k kms and wondering if i should replace it before the 150k mark 🤔
@@wicho99w99 mine still looked good at 150000ks
@@BrokenSprocket good to know, i will replace mine at the 150k then, thanks for your reply
Injectors
Original still in it.
😁 not bad for a hilux 😉
