That's how it works tho. I won't tell all the details but I know someone who is in a position of power and never has to pay fines. You just tell the cop who you are or sometimes even the cop recognises you and that's it. He goes his way.
Because they don't have to be good at their job, they just need to be good at convincing you that they are

During my military conscription, I was posted to an office clerk vocation due to a medical condition. And what I found out while I was there was that a LOT of people who get posted there have parents that were influential and/or knew people in the military/government, and used their connections to get their child posted to a non-combat vocation.
One guy's parents owned a large optics company, and not only did he get posted as a clerk despite being combat fit, but he managed to take a year long MC without any of the repercussions that people would usually get for taking more than 60 days of consecutive MC without any special medical reasons.
Another guy was posted as a clerk simply because his family was friends with one of the psychologists at my camp.
And there was also a guy who was on constantly on MC that got called out and made fun of by someone on Instagram for always faking illness and streaming on Twitch while he was "sick," and he drove to camp, parked his Porsche right at the entrance _(we're a medical centre in a civilian building, so there're no armed guards or anything, he can just tap in with his camp pass at the same gantry as civilian workers)_, and came in and almost punched the guy who called him out. He was held back by a bunch of officers and civilian employees, and it caused a huge scene. But he never got ANY punishments or military trials like other such cases of violence.

It's not that power corrupts the person that receives it, it's those that chase power that corrupt the positions they hold.
ive heard this theory that it isnt just power that it is corrupting, but power attracts the corrupt.
the average person here has no idea what to do with such power, nor want to go out of their way to obtain it. that leaves the narcissistic sociopaths who would lie and threaten their way up in desperation to claim the top.
Power attracts people who believe they deserve it, and thus naturally narcissistic and therefore corruptible.

@@josephchurch123 Most european countries are hella corrupt, and South America is probably way worse than both combined. I say that as someone that was born in the EU and live in NA with about 50/50 of my time spent in each. My grandma got her head bashed in on the staircase by some fucker in Lithuania, and is now slowly dying from it. Dude got off scott free because he was a judge's son. The police are easily bribed, and those with power are quite literally above the law, it's just that no one talks about it. In my experience, the NA police force is quite reasonable and fair despite the politically biased news coverage. Always some rotten eggs in there though.

Apparently this isn't the guy's first time throwing his temper tantrum. He even threw racist slurs to some teens before too. This idiot thankfully lost in the election even tho he apologized. There aren't that much news after that.
