Here the construction of a first sanctuary dedicated to the cult of San Donato appears to be contemporary with, or in any case slightly subsequent to, 304, the year of the martyrdom of the then bishop of Arezzo.

I grew up in this town. I still somehow remember even the smallest details of this place. Unfortunately, I had to move from San Donato due to my parents' work. But I still hold the memories of this town very close to my heart. I hope that I will be able to visit home again. I was born and raised here so I call this place home. Btw thanks for posting this video. I'll watch all of it. Kudos 👍

Hi Lazy, I am from and don't live terribly far from it, so I had to visit it even though I never did before. It was a gorgeous discovery... didn't expect San Donato to be THIS beautiful. Glad I could somehow bring back good and happy memories, truly glad to read it here. Thanks for the comment and a big Ciao

@@StillWanderer Thanks for making a 4k video of San Donato. It's a beautiful valley but it's underappreciated for its beauty. It's my hometown so this place is really dear to my heart. I've seen pictures of San Donato and it has developed quite a bit. I remember how the school parks used to be quite different. I'm talking about scuola elementare. Though I don't remember Italian that much but I still remember the iconic Italian hand gestures used while talking lol. Keep posting good content Riccardo!!!

Non so!

Dear Hugo, indeed, I don't want to say that I am "campanilism" , but I kinda am) Being from Latium/Lazio I try to show more about this part of Italy (and of course Umrbia and Tuscany as well).
Compared to Tuscany (and a bit to Umbria too nowadays...), Lazio's towns are absolutely forgotten and almost never visited by foreign tourists here. Perhaps having Rome at its center is a curse (or a bliessing) for such towns. These are perhaps the "last" moments to film these towns as they are; older people living there are passing away... what will happen to many of them... I'm afraid. I will try to capture as many as possible to make them a bit "stop in time" for a future where it will be completely different (and I'm afraid... not in a good way).
Yup this was the new setup, which is quite stunning and I agree with you about the lights ... at that time , before dusk, they were perfect, especially in a winter settings.
I have a LOT of older videos with the older camera yet to upload, but I'm now filming with this new setup which is quite striking ... and more stable too.
Ahh... and the Pandas are everywhere my friend)
Buon weekend Hugo, a big ciao to both of you and let's keetp in touch as always

@@StillWanderer Nothing wrong with showcasing your own region, my friend. Indeed, Rome is a magnet (rightfully so, to some extent, as it is mighty impressive), and there aren't that many tourists who make it a point to see and visit lesser-known towns, like my gf and I do.
And yes, Italy in general has a population that's getting older, and without young people to «replace» those who eventually pass away, some of those villages will pass away too.
And if Canada's situation is any indication of things to come, it might become harder for foreigners to buy a property in Italy. Trudeau has passed a law to prevent chineses investors from scooping more land in Canada. The problem is, he didn't make it impossible only for the chinese to buy real estate (even though THEY are the problem), it applies to ALL foreigners. Because of some type of reciprocity treaty between Canada and Italy, now Canadians can't buy real estate in Italy. This vid revealed it : czcams.com/video/-gpACv-QdPM/video.html
By the time I actually want to buy, hopefully some workaround will have been found.

@@hugolafhugolaf Gosh Hugo, didn't know about that think that happened in Canada... it's kinda bad if one needs to buy here then. I remember some similiar laws are present in some EU countries (not Italy), with regard to only buying "land", while flats or houses can be bought, land proper or agriculture land isn't possible for many foreigners.
I'm sure some way can be found anyway, or something will change perhaps. I still have some friends in Canada and from time to time I hear their ideas about Trudeau (not so positive actually))

Ah Chelsey, now the cats are becoming a kind of "leitmotiv" for these videos, I try to make them the starts whenever I see them; the famous "italian cats" of these villages are cute. Some dogs here and there also appeared in some earlier walks; I try to film them. Love animals immensely. My family always had dogs, cats, birds, even turtles and fishes in the past).
Wish you a nice wekend and see you soon then
