I love how you emphasize over and over that the TILT doesn't change. All the fancy videos explaining seasons on CZcams, with all their fancy CGI, and they still confuse the hell out of my students. Why? They keep saying stuff like, "Now the Earth is tilted away" or "Now the Earth is tilted towards". Such sloppy wording they use. Your video is the best!

@@josephclegg3562 Did you actually not understand that the holes in the metal strip were demonstrating how the same amount of light would hit higher latitudes at a more slanted angle, meaning that the sun's energy would be spread out, giving less of a heating effect to the earth's surface in that particular area?

Thank you so much, Jared, for explaining it clearly. I erroneously used to think that the earth "tilted" this way and that. I just saw 4 or 5 clips on youtube and they don't explain this point well. You are the only one that made it clear to me, with that huge pencil always in the same position, but pointing towards the sun and then away from the sun on the opposite side of the orbit. That simple drawing on white paper also made it click. Thank you! Now I'm gonna watch lots of other fun science demos.

Using holes to show how the same amount of sunlight is spread over a smaller or larger area was an excellent idea!
Or to put it more scientifically, the amount of solar energy hitting each square metre of the Earth (or rather the top of the atmosphere) is _proportional to the sine of the Sun's angle above the horizon,_ like this:
    *Angle Energy received*
    90° 100.0 % (directly above, zenith)
    80° 98.5 %
    70° 94.0 %
    60° 86.6 %
    50° 76.6 %
    40° 64.3 %
    30° 50.0 %
    20° 34.2 %
    10° 17.4 %
0° 0.0 % (if the Sun was a point source of light and no atmospheric refraction)

So I want to explain too
So how we get seasons is that the Earth rotates and spins at the same time. Spring is April and that's not that far and not that close and that's why it's spring June is Summer the Earth is close to the sun that's why it's hot and really warm! Fall is November or October
when Earth is getting not to close it's going far away from the sun and getting cold we can see sunlight a little bit because the sun is getting far away and winter is December the sun is rlly far not to far but the sun is far and that's why it's getting snow and cold and North America tilts far away from the sun we get December and the Southern Hemisphere get summer

I google about the change of seasons due to the tilt is different from March-December, that makes the different seasons, but is that true the tilt is different throughout the whole year

    • @sailorman8668
      @sailorman8668 Před rokem +1

The earth is PERMANENTLY tilted at 23.5 degrees - it doesn't 'wobble' between 0 degrees and 23.5 degrees as some people mistakenly think.

Wow supersmart! Don't trust a guy with glases inside and who's high pitching his voice when he's getting excited.
Is this like the academic explanation of seasons for supersmart people? You didn't think that through, did you? Hey! but you made a video about it! Cool!
If your model is true, have you ever thought about the fact that the earth spins on it's own axis every 24 hours thus comming back to it's starting position every 24 hours? So, if for example, Mexico is facing the sun in the earth's starting position, that would be 12 pm noon time. 24 hours later (when Mexico is facing the sun again) one day has past. Right? Now, how about 6 months later? Remember, the earth's daily rotation. The earth is now on the opposite side in it's orbit around the sun, do you realise Mexico has it's back to the sun at noon time? Let's see if that can break your programming.

So Bradislav, despite having the perfect opportunity to explain to everyone, why have you completely failed to tell us all what YOUR alternative explanation is as to what causes the seasons?
But of course, to explain what causes the seasons in your fictional flat earth world, you'd have to pluck something out of your ass.
