- The Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, will be tuition-free for all students thanks to a $1 billion donation from a former professor. 93-year-old Ruth Gottesman has been affiliated with the college for 55 years and is the chairperson of its board of trustees. Her gift to the institute is one of the largest charitable donations made to an educational institution in the United States and most likely the largest to a medical school. Gottesman credited her late husband, David “Sandy” Gottesman for leaving her with the financial means to make such a donation

We need to become more like the enlightened countries of the world that offer free education and don't worship unregulated capitalism at the expense of the well-being of society at large. As admirable as the gift is, there should BE NO BILLIONAIRES! This is a dangerous concentration of influence and power, which can be directed toward goodness or wickedness, as the billionaire chooses.
Those countries you mention have a billion times over billion royal family in charge. Which is fine if nice and not mental ill. Terrible if not nice nor sound. They are hardly enlightened.

I mean this is great but how about donating to community colleges around the country so us poor people don't have debt instead of giving the doctors who will be able to pay off their debt easily after school.
