  • The X/Xm certainly isn’t known for a flexible rhythm track, but there’s no law that says you can’t use other tracks for drums! Here, a custom Kick on Part 2 (tunable, and with delay), custom Snare (clean) on Part 3, crazy Juno Synth Drum in Part 4, regular 808 drum track on 5 with hi-hats and claps. Part 1 is a J8 Bass. Muting/unmuting for variety. Just an experiment. There are obviously better solutions for drums, but it’s interesting to think outside the box and still use it.

I really wish the Jup-XM allowed NEW drumkits to be installed like the other ZEN core instruments, instead of artificially limiting them. I love my XM but very disappointed by this.

Agreed. Some of the ZEN-Core Sound Packs contained some nice new kits, and I was bummed that they couldn’t be transferred over. I’d rather use the memory for that than Wave Expansions. I was also surprised that out of 1000s of Tones already on the X/Xm, there was really only ONE drum Tone! (Bass/Snare) Yes, the waveforms are there to make your own, but WEIRD!

@@RobertSaintJohn While we're griping, the 256 custom tone limitation is completely bogus too... they take up SO little memory space! But I still love the XM haha!

@@JonMacapodi Seriously the most short-sighted decision of the X/Xm, no doubt. Especially with all these Sound Packs that they want to sell!!! It's like an all-you-can-eat buffet, but they hand you a saucer. Scenes and Tones are very small files (kilobytes!) and I estimate they allocated a whopping 10MB for User space. When did we lose the RAM War?!

Hellou! Is it really stand-alone the XM , or any DAW or drum machine in the background connected or played as accompany ?

Absolutely all Xm in one take, using the tracks and muting as described
