  • Hello everyone. Thanks for checking out my video. In this video, I’m showing my 1000 point Waffen SS Build Army for late War Normandy and France for a Bolt Action. I call it a build army as I’ve tried to make the list flexible enough with enough elasticity to make changes and room for add-ons to the list as the the situation might dictate. This army is 1001 points and 7 dice as presented here.
    Please check out my other Waffen SS Army. It’s 1000 points but 13 dice. Built for Spring '45 on the Eastern Front.

    Absolutely stunning army there dude, really very very impressive! Magnetising the schurzen is genius :D

      Thank you very much. The schurtzen was a bit of trial and error. First I tried this guitar string set up that was a disaster and then went with the bobby pin.

    Spooky timing on this one. Have just pulled my bolt action 12th ss army to work on this wkend. Ps stay safe over the next few weeks.

      Thanks for checking the video out. I notice those odd synchronicity projects too! I remember when I was doing my USMC, it seemed like everybody and their brother was doing the same army. Is you army heavy infantry focused or team weapons?

    • @CallofOdin580
      @CallofOdin580 Před 4 lety +2

      JvC Paints,,, a bit of a mixture really. Trying to squeeze as many bodies in as I can but then also have so many weapon teams and vehicles to choose from that I’d never be able to field it all.

    • @jvcpaints
      @jvcpaints  Před 4 lety +1

      @@CallofOdin580 I know the feeling. I've kind of gone off of Stg.44s for that reason. I'd rather get an extra dice in with some potential to do something than have 10 or so Assault rifles scattered across the table. Then again, I have a gamey tendency to tailor my lists against my usual opponents, so I might go assault rifle heavy.

    This is really cool! I went down this rabbit hole about a year ago. Researching the types of vehicles and the type of camo uniforms. Im kind of a historucal accuracy nut so i made sure i painted the right pea dot schemes. Fun fact- 12th SS had Pumas- so your opponent cant complain when you roll up with a recce medium AT. They also had Italian (Fiat) trucks- so i had to get the resin version and add the divisional symbol on the front wheel guard....

    • @jvcpaints
      @jvcpaints  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks for the compliment! I have a PUMA in a box all painted up, but I haven't done the weathering and all that on it yet. It would be a good swap out with the PnzrIV to beef up some units or sneak another dice into the list. I might get it done here pretty soon as I have to do a Pnzr T38 and a Sdkfz 231 for my Bulgarians which I'm aiming to get done in the next few weeks. Please check out that video when it drops!

      Thanks for watching, Dan. The mortar pits were from Small Terrain by Andy Bryant. He might still have a presence on ebay, but with the way the world is having a sick day (month(s)?) off I haven't a clue. I've also been watching movies here and there. I had a few recommends and a few avoid at all costs I forgot to mention in the video. Escape from LA is 100% recommend.

    So the radio antennae has no rules in this version and is more for optics? I did a quick look and found under the Tank Encyclopaedia that the 231 was in service to the end of the war so could well have been a part of the SS 12th. Hate SS though, the one force that I would happily use a Crocodile on. I am formulating tactics for these guys for maximum casualties. I have a Brit force that I might even name Canadian if I ever have a game. Did you know the Canadians invented the Wasp, Bren Carrier Flamethrower. Can you imagine the fun you could have with the Wasp and Crocodile on the table.

    • @jvcpaints
      @jvcpaints  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks for checking out the video. The radio has no real rules in Bolt Action. The game is more like a 5-10 minute action scene in a film spread over 6 turns, beers, rule look ups and general tomfoolery between opponents. One thing you can be certain of in playing, the dice gods will either make you or break you. Anything but a 1! lol

    • @jvcpaints
      @jvcpaints  Před 3 lety

      Thanks! Yeah the Sd.Kfz is a Tamiya one. I can't remember which one. It was probably the Stuka Fus one as I use the rockets for scenery and it's always nice to have the bits around.

  • @LongWarEnjoyer
    @LongWarEnjoyer Před 2 lety +1

    Cool army, but i thought you couldn't take assault rifles for 12th ss? At least in the campaign book..

    • @jvcpaints
      @jvcpaints  Před 2 lety +1

      To be honest, I think I might have just used a generic selector or one of the older campaign books. I don't have many of the new campaign books. I think the last one I got was Stalingrad...or Korea...I have so many armies too keeping anything straight is a mission in itself.
