I ordered this in July thinking it was a volantex product using the same FCB and protocol as the super cub 500 and Eachine warbirds. But after some research I realized it was similar to a crappy flying Cessna from years gone by. So I cancelled and got a refund.
The rc forums indicate it is a slow but satisfactory flyer in beginner mode but unflyable in intermediate and expert mode. Also impossible to do acrobatics. It appears to be underpowered and tail heavy. Also the 1020 motor is noisy and prop does not pop off to preserve the gears/motor. So I am glad I passed on this one. Too bad because it looks amazing.
You should do follow up episodes when there are issues....was you able to fix the wonky flying when not in stability mode? That would be useful info for a would be purchaser.
Every one of these I've seen does not fly very well at all when stability is turned off and that is a shame because it looks so good and flies pretty well with stability on Brian Phillips had the same problem You can check out his vid on it He has a great channel also on reviewing RC planes few drones and helicopters Mostly planes though I was really wanting one of these but I definitely am going to hold off and probably get the Corsair or Mustang can't make up my mind lol ✌️

By the way, try to introduce more headache for you .. choice of warbirds from Eachine Mini series.. P51D, T-28, F4U .. or the Spot Cub is also a good choice 😘

Love your videos. But this time the plane came in 2nd. Place. What an incredibly beautiful sunset 🌅. Totally breathtaking. Our God is an awesome God. To bless us with something so beautiful. All the praise and glory goes to him. I like the P47 as a warbird in general. But this plane in any mode other than stabilization? The beginner or low intermediate pilot will have their hands full or crash. In stabilization it’s fine and looks nice. I’ve seen another video of this exact plane. It was just as twitchy in that one. Personally I’m on the fence with this one. But as for you and Abby and your video presentation, top notch as always. Thank you. Luv ya both. God bless.
What an awesome P47!! As of last check on BG, the P51 Mustang & the F4U Corsair are sold out. Ended up getting the T28 Trojan. Excellent flights Nate & Abby!! 😊⚓✈

P-47 thunderbolt I'm building an 8-ft wingspan when I was in my 30s never thought anyone would bring that plane up again really missed it too
I'd like to see some German and Japanese warbirds. It would make for some fun "dogfights" with a bunch of different WW2 era planes in the air at the same time.

dont buy this plane it looks great but in intermediate and exspert its imposible to fly with stock transmitter alo it doest have prop saver feature its kek but the t28 trojan you can controll it in all modes.

What a perfect evening to film a maiden flight test. The scale speed really complimented the beautiful sundown red sky background…and it just got better the longer the flight went on. Wonder if they have sorted out the glitches and the screws that didn’t fit…?

Hi Nate, nice video review of the P-47. I got mine last week and added 1/2 oz to the bottom of the cowl to balance the CG which I have determined is 38mm from the wing leading edge. I have found this to eliminate the tail porpoising and also fly better on intermediate mode.
Mine needed 2 oz of lead under the front cowl to fly right.

My Corsair is faster then any other one I've seen too I can't explain its 100% running stock. These somewhat buget gyro planes really are the most amazing rc's I always dreamnt of. Great review Nate & Abby, but after watching other reviews of this plane it doesn't seem to have the quality of the other Eachine products especially the mini P-51 Mustang and the F-22 Raptor. I could be wrong but its seems like this plane and the 50mm edf jet they released last month was rushed through production and has some flaws.

Nice i have one :) It came with ailerons all canywompis left wing level right wing 20 degrees pitches down look at it and adjust before flight , best way to adjust is in expert mode with all planes to see were they are positioned . trim level there and then go from there :)

thuis was my first rc plane i ever flew. after a delivery time of 2 months, 2 crashed propellers and a awfukll research after propellers it flys like a dream and even i can fly it with wind

Wow I love that slow flight ability! I agree with you about the P51, flies too fast for its scale size/feel. I still love it too, but not quite the same. This P-47 though, I've been wanting one, but that dang recent price increase has me hesitating. I'm sure it's still worth the money though. Definitely looks cool and the wing loading looks great. If the only problem is being tail-heavy that's not a deal breaker if you're a real model flyer. You just adjust the CG by shifting the battery forward, removing weight from the rear, or adding a bit of weight on the nose. Not sure why many are being so hard on something so simple. So what if they poorly planned CG...if you can shift the CG to the right spot and then it flies, then great. If you shift the CG and it still flies like poo, then OK it's not a well designed aircraft at all. Maybe everyone is spoiled by all the 'near perfect' Eachine planes we've had the last couple years. But really some of them have been tail heavy and require about 5mm of CG adjustment for even better flight. I'd wager this one just needs to have a shift in battery location and a bit of nose weight and it wouldn't have strange stalls anymore.
Tail-heavy planes often fly only once or twice. Nose-heavy planes just fly poorly, but can fly many times. (speaking of those that don't have built in stabilization to save your rear right off the runway)
hope you see this in time, its currently $90 here for USA option only. check it out, i have 400mm p51 but might need to pick this up considering its 30$ cheaper than the p51 i got a month ago

My P51 arrived yesterday and just flew it this afternoon in Richmond Park (London, England). It’s great as expected. Probably left it a bit late…light was fading and it was quite windy. So the toggle between expert to beginner is great once you get the hang of it. Noticed the rudder only allows a very slow flat turn…you really need to use the aileron’s to turn her before she gets too far off. Could you guys demonstrate the “One Key U Turn” that was the only thing I couldn’t work out…don’t have to do it on a beautiful red sky evening…but it would be nice…?
I bought two of the P51 mustangs and the one button return is a joke; virtually useless. It simply turns the plane and you’re not too sure where it be headed when the turn is completed.
Won’t know how it works on this plane until it arrives in a week, but I don’t think it will be useful.

I love your channel. I'm planning on buying a mini Warbird. Must likely the 400mm Mustang. I'm curious, can you get a detachable 3 blade prop that will fit the Mustang and the other mini warbirds?
In my opinion... I think the Aeroscout S2 1.1 is the best first RC plane!😁😉 I LOVE mine soooo much!!! But lol, I just had a pretty bad crash with it and it's non fixable, but I ordered another fuselage, so I can get back out flying again!!😃

By the way, I received mine today... 🤭.
I discovered that, the screws came with the plane is actually correct, 2 smaller head size (for the rudder) and 2 slightly bigger head size for the main wings.
Also, about the aileron rods length, when first open up the box, it does looks like it is shorter than expected.. however, this is because it fixed on the outer hole of the hinge holder on the aileron, follow the instructions manual for aileron should be fixed to the inner hole.. once I move it to the inner hole, the rod length just perfect without any adjustments at all. ☺️
For those who are using RadioMaster or Jumper TX with multi-protocol support, this plane is different from the P51D series which are using V761.. This plane, which in fact using the MT99XX protocol (same as the Eachine Mini Dragon) with gyro permanently turn-on.

I have not maiden mine yet, target to test it tomorrow.
Done with the maiden today, found that it truly tail heavy; with the benefit of the large wing surface, and large battery compartment. I managed to put all 3 1S lipo into the plane, and result with a perfect CG 🤭.
I will custom make a *parallel* wire to like up the 3 X 1S lipo = 1S 1500mah in total 😂.. with this setup, the plane may be able to fly for hour+ 😂.
Btw, I do found that need to be very careful on rudder, if pushing too much rudder, will cause a tip stall ..

What happened to the running video for the Axial ryft? I was looking forward to it. I Love mine! It does need a couple of upgrades though. I replaced the servo and servo saver with a horn. I've also installed a rear sway bar. This thing Rips!

Thank you for the review and... epiphany! I have the volantex p51 768-1, and for months I've tried to get it to fly straight w the stabilization off. Turn it off, the plane goes into a loop, just like the p47! I thought i was the worst trimmer in rc land. Of course it's the receiver unit! At least the p47 flies smoothly in stab mode. My p51 wiggles and wobbles, looks quite silly. Time to trade out the receiver.
my 400mm p51 flies in manual alright just not in high winds. however in the moderate rate mode they fly great in the wind. i would say the advanced mode is only good for loops/rolls and then quickly switching back to moderate or beginner.

So I'm watching this video and you say that this plane is uncontrollable unless it's in stability mode with at least 20% throttle. You say it's tricky to land even for a skilled pilot like yourself. Then you say it would be a great first plane. I don't believe what you say anymore.
If I handed the controls to a beginner, and they do what I suggested, which is keep it above 20% throttle, I guarantee they will have success flying it! We aren't hiding anything in this video.. yes, it is harder to land than most, but it is also tough as nails! So, where is the actual dilemma here? Your comment seems hypocritical of what is actually being said. Now, I could have EASILY gotten in front of the camera and made it look like this plane has No Issues, but we clearly show them all (as well as wrong screws) and still stand by what we said. It is not the best first plane, but someone that has never flown this could easily fly it. ⚓
The headline of this Video : You should buy this! is misleading.
Promoting this plane like that, knowing the other eachine 400 warbirds, is poor Business! The sailors should make another Video, without the beautiful scenery and show the flight characteristics of mid and expert modes. This would help a lot of people saving money! It's just the same with the volantex 750 mm mustang. People who were expecting same flight characteristics as the little eachine warbirds, were disappointed! That volantex mustang is bad crap!
@@siegmarlange5470 My 750mm Mustang needed an ounce of weight under the horizontal stabilizer to fly properly.
I really enjoyed the review. However, I am not impressed by the design of this plane. I own both the mini-Cessna and I bought my son the P-47. Both are extremely tailheavy. The Cessna required over 10 grams to get it to fly and the P-47 required 19 grams of nose weight. To make matters worse, the planes are underpowered. My son's 9 year old daughter flies rings around the P-47 with a T-28. And finally, the worse. My mini-Cessna motor failed on the 9th battery. The P-47 failed on the 6th battery. Both failed in exactly the same way. First low thrust, then no telemetry signal, then little thrust, and then 1 minute of flight time. So it looks good, but it is underwhelming. I cannot wait for a good brushless conversion for this plane.

I agree with you, that this plane is very disappointing! I have ordered one, as soon as it was offered. Luckily the Promotion price was "only" 86 Euro including shipping. But these 86 Euro went down the sink! I received the plane 3! month after order and payment! Before my maiden flight I could see the Video of brian Philipps. Flight performance in his review was pretty poor. Flyable in beginner mode only. But even there some unexpected rodeo! I thought that the plane was tail heavy and estimating the CG in the first 3d of the wing, I added a seven gram coin to the battery. I was just able to float around in beginner mode, switching modes immediately made the plane uncontrollable! I also noticed the goat jumps in flight. So my conclusion : underpowered, uncontrollable, waste of money! As I liked most of the Videos of the sailors, this, as well as the review of the volantex 768 mustang, are bad sales blurb! This is everything but honest reviews! They named crap before! They should have done that here as well! Now i see their presentations through different eyes! The sailors should do a second part of the p47 showing flight Performance in all 3 modes. Maybe without the beautiful sunset scenery!

this is strange to me...i have had planes this size fly great with zero stabilizing... are you saying you have CG correct and it trimmed and it still needs stabilzation??? confusing you say all these need it on... i get using that cheap radio has no adjustments for expo or dual rates...but it still should be flyable with an experienced person... what about removing stock rx and installing your spectrum rx ?? is it doable?thanks
You answered your own question. It’s marketed (in part) as a great beginner’s plane. They (beginners) lack your skills, so they “need” stabilization.

Yeah, I just did two minutes of research on that drone you mentioned. 100% a SCAM and we wish those ads would be taken down. There are ads ALL OVER Facebook like that for drones and RC cars, using our stolen footage to try and sell a scam RC to people. If it seems too good to be true, trust us.. it is.

tail heavy there guys that why it noses up power off and loops when the stabilised mode is off, Get some lead in the nose and get the CofG right and level it up and then you will be good......

Additional weight weakens the weak motor on this plane even more. It doesn’t improve flight characteristics in mid and expert mode! No 3d flying possible with this plane! I am lucky, to have bought it in the early Promotion sale at 86 Euro. Even that is just waste of money in comparison to the 400 series. At banggood the f4u and the t28 are currently for sale at 39,87 Euro including shipping from czech warehouse. So I have ordered both and save them until I have wrecked my other ones, that still fly perfect!
Maybe it's just that the 1s layout is just too weak for the p47. And eachine should have just used the receiver from the 400 series.
@@siegmarlange5470 yup talking to the eachine factory about this, they should have used the geared together three 8.5mm motor setup rather than a single 10mm. and yeah a different Rx protocol is not smart either........ means it comes from a different manufacturer supplier, the 400mm birds are made by Volantex
@@theoztreecrasher2647 sorry, I thought the W01 setup was 8.5mm motors, I have a dud one here never flown, has a totally whacko gyro in it.......... seems to have decent power. but no way to get into the motor assembly which is a pity all round
Mine needed 2 oz of lead under the front cowl to fly right. Too much for a 500mm plane.

Awesome plane i got it and the p40 same size much better then the p51 and corsair shame ehine made the bf109 e but same size as the corsair n p51😞😞and more expensive and they wont make any different warbirds no spitfire or hurricane or fw190 😞😞😞😞
