The most underrated band of all time. Swervedriver brings guitar driven rock to new levels of Dissident beauty without loosing drive. A band that flerts with the avant-garde and never lost there ability to rock. I'm proud to say one of my all time favorite bands.
I am the guy who asked Adam to go to that Pixies show....😅 He was dating a friend of mine and living in the New York area It was at Hammerstein ballroom 34th St. in Manhattan
Ill never forget how I discovered Swervedriver… picked up a zine at a music store in Edmonton, and towards the back was an interview with this upcoming band, Swervedriver, in support for their debut album, Raise. I believe it was Adam, who told the story, but they talked about coming home from a gig, and coming across a couple who had ended up off the road, and stopping to help them. The man noticed their gear in the back and asked if they were in a band, and Adam said yes, so the guy asked their name. Adam gave a different name, cuz he thought the name Swervedriver might make the man think the band were messing with them. I thought that was hilarious so I went out and bought Raise the next day. Been a fan of the band ever since.
Has the interviewer lost his marbles? 3:30 Adam is talking about how Oxford has a good vibe and the guy just starts talking about wanting to break peoples phones as if it's related in some way.
New York is in such desperate need for a real Alternative Rock station.... Why can't we have one?!?!... This is the best thing q104 does and I wish they would switch to alternative.
I like to bump into people that text on their phone while walking in front of me. They slow me down. Phone drops? That's their fault. I live in Asia and my favorite phone drop is when they are texting and they are walking straight towards me and bump head on into me. That's when my Hockey check comes out. "Oh....excuse me. You didn't see me walking in my own lane. Sorry about your phone. Maybe next time you will look where your walking"
Wait, you bump into them on purpose? You're the dick in that situation. The only reason phone lookers should bump into another person is if they themselves are also looking at their phone.
Swervies still at it. "Raise" is one of the best albums I've heard.
I Wasn't Born to Lose You and Future Ruins are both great!

one of the best guitar duos in the history of rock and roll right there.
Totally!
So good they got back together. Not a sentimental trip, not an attempt at re-invention: just more fantastic music.
WORD!

man, Bob Mould salutes them by not move an inch!
Delighted they've cultivated a global, enduring audience. One of THEE great, underrated bands
Indeed. Chapterhouse would be another from the same era.

We love Swervedriver in South América !
From what I understand, Bob Mould was living in NYC in the early 90's when he was involved w/ Sugar.
Such a great band
come back to NYC!
Duel and Girl on a Motorbike off "Mezcal Head" are absolute classics, but I've always been more a fan of "99th Dream" as a whole album.

Greatest band of all time.
My Bloody Valentine DID stare at their shoes. Especially during the 20 minute apocalypse of You Made Me Realize
Is the sample at the end of Duel the waves from Planet of the Apes?
to think that things we like now are future ruins is humbling

4:45 the term 'shoegaze' referred to the *audience* at a gig. Swervedriver never induced that reaction, bands like Slowdive and Cranes did.

Seems kind of fucked up.

We don't care about your petty phone squabbles you child. It's 2021. Get used to it.
@@bossman-jk9tl in my town, a scuffle would result
One of my favorite bands but I have to admit almost all of their album covers are lame to put it lightly.
Nada Surf is better!
😂 nah
