At first, I was like, "what no piston rings? How will this run?" Then I saw it was battery powered. I wonder if this could be converted to gas-powered
It can but it would probably need a small battery and system anyway to time everything,
And a few other parts like a gas tube and a gas tank
Yeah but those parts would probably have to be bought separately tho. Like imagine you work on cars and then you get a notification on your phone that a company has started selling tiny complete engines. While yes, engines can be built, its pretty hard and resource consuming.

They have some cheaper models on their website, and by other brands as well. Me and my dad built one that was only $120. Wasn’t as detailed as this, but still gives you the satisfaction. Or you can spend $3,000 on one that’s nitro powered. There is something for everyone at every price point.

I mean sure it's gorgeous and sure it's a lot of pieces and a work of art, but the amazing thing here is that this engine is about as optimal as it gets, that every single piece is necessary for some purpose or another. Truly amazing.

Equally amazed by the fact that human beings created designs that progressed further and further until this (and still going!) and that every single piece is necessary and plays a role here as well as with your incredible editing. I've done some basic video editing for a few years and can't imagine the pain it took to create this. I'm sure you've got a lot of time saving tips and tricks up your sleeve but still!
A truly beautiful thing! What more could a person want to open at Christmas? I guess maybe a week to build and a lifetime to enjoy and teach/explain to others. It’s wonderful.

Reminds me of "The Visible V8" put out by Revell in the late 50s. It was clear plastic so you could watch all the multi colored parts as it turned. If I remember it could also be motorized. Some mechanics used it to explain needed repairs and functions to customers.

Somehow I was hoping this will be an actual ‘internal combustion’ model. Not Lipo powered electric motor thing. Anyone knows of working engines like this? Maybe from model airplanes (but those are usually single cylinder)?

The 3x speed while screwing in the screws looked like s drill and that horror sound was definitely scary

This HAS to be the beefyst mini engine by FAR....decent size rods and pistons....This thing is ready for EFI
I've always wanted one of those kits.. but then I saw the price. It's just insane
I would bet this is good excercise in how to build a real engine! Looks like all the parts are there except for fuel lines and a few pipes and gaskets

V8's I know of are all 90 degrees between cylinder banks. This one looks to be about 60 degrees, o.k. for a display model but would not be very suitable for a running engine. The detail is remarkable, good teaching tool.

I am a mechanic now 40+ years. I have always found these kits fascinating. I would love to assemble a V8 and run it on a scale size engine stand. Not as a model but as an actual running gas burning engine. Please let me know how I can go about doing this. I don’t have thousands of US currency to do this however I would really be interested in a donation so I can make videos of the build process.
