I've noticed that most Disney characters have dark back storys
I’ve also noticed
Fun fact: when R.L stine was a kid her mother always read to him the book of pinocchio. And he was so terrified. And after becoming the world's famous story writer he read the book again and liked the idea of a dummy coming to life. Then he has made his very first horror dummy. Slappy and Mr.Wood and made his story book for kids "Night of the living dummy" I,II and III. he also said that this was inspired by the book of pinocchio.

This isn't the real story of Pinocchio! This is a basically a re-telling of the Disney movie with touches from other versions. Carlo Collodi's real version has seldom been adapted faithfully.
