Muslims are not a racial group, so Muslims arent just brown. There are Muslims of all races. In fact, the largest Muslim majority nation in terms of population is Indonesia and they are Asians. Also there are millions of white, European Muslims.

It's ok to stan and appreciate artists, music, culture, people, traditions, nature of another country and not to agree with their government's actions, in case of authoritarian regimes it's out of control of common people, but they could really appreciate some love and support shown to them!
Yeah. I am from Finland and I'm absolutely afraid and disgusted of Russian government. But I really like some Russian artists and bands like Arkona and Little Big.
@@Dally93 Little Big escaped russia and has harshly spoken out against the war and putin now. They probably can't go back as long as putin is in power. Several of the bigger russian musicians/groups have been quite outspoken against the war.

Remember people are generally good and mean well in any country. We all have amazing skills and cultures. It is our governments that are the problem.
Caucasian doesn't mean white, the term when referencing white people is from an obsolete classification from a long-disproven theory on biological race (wherein 'caucusoid' people spanned from Europe to India, so I'm a bit lost on why it started to mean white anyways). I'm not sure why, but it still sees use in reference to white people in the USA. Otherwise, it refers to people from the Caucasus region (on and around the border between Eastern Europe and Western Asia, around the Caucasus mountains).
Azerbaijan is in the Caucasian mountain ranges. These are pretty much the people from where the cuacasians gets their name. And there is a modern war betwen Armenia and Azerbaijan with Russian intervention.

Hello, and thanks for the reaction👍 This video summarized the situation of Azerbaijan very well. One thing I can say for sure is that the half of population here is very supportive of Ilham Aliyev (those are mostly the elder people or ignorants) while the other half is very unpleased with him and doesn't want him to rule due to raising prices (despite being an oil-rich country LMAO) and unemployment (or majority working for minimum wage, which is not enough for a standard living) and as the guy in video mentioned, when people start talking and protesting about it, they'd be stopped by police or even worse, arrested. But apart from those, it's a very nice country, has a lot of historic and atttactive places and people are friendly
I sometimes wondered why americans call white people caucasian?
The first thing that comes to my mind hearing that is the caucasus region, so Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Although technically still in europe it has always been more under turk and persian influence.

In Eurovision, the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia is very volatile. There's only ever been 1 point exchanged between them (Azerbaijan to Armenia) and when that happened the police actually questioned them on voting for them. When ESC was hosted in Baku in 2012, Loreen (the winner from Sweden) was bold enough to call out Azerbaijan's human rights offenses.
There have been plenty of other countries that were in conflict while competing along aside each other and still exchanged points (ie Russia/Ukraine, Armenia/Turkey, Greece/Turkey, Russia/Georgia)
Axtually, it was Armenia that gave 1 point to Azerbaijan not the other way around

Just so you know. In spain (Europe) there is white people, black people, asian people, there are arabs, christians, atheists. And we are all spanish. So, Usa is not the only place with many different people living as part of one country.

Favor, Albania is a country in the Balkans. Azerbaijan used to be called Albania too. They call it Caucasian Albania to distinguish it from Balkan Albania. Even they have the same name they have nothing or at least little to do with each other. I too was confused by this.

In 2021 Armenia withdrew from the Eurovision because Azerbaijan and Armenia were in conflict about the territory called Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan and Armenia are not friendly with each other and I’ve heard rumours that if you have travelled to Armenia and then try to go to Azerbaijan they won’t let you in because of the Armenian stamp in your passport.

When referring to Azeris and others from that region they are called Caucasian bc they are located near the Caucus Mountains. Doesn’t mean white bc they are mostly Persian descent.

The word Caucasian was coined by Friedrich Blumenchbach (German anthropologist).
Indigenous Caucasians are White and people of immigrant countries like Azerbaijan(turkic) and Armenia(middle easterners) are not :)

The Azerbaijan LGBT rights are a bit weak. It is not illegal but discrimination is not prosecuted.
Plus: 26 February 1992, Armenia killed too many Azeris *(Khojaly Genocide)* , then they say "help us"... I mean Karabakh officially given to Azerbaijan and also UN recognizes as it but being majority of it's Armenian doesn't means that there should belong to Armenia. Uyghur majority is Turkic but belongs to China rn for example.
Also if someones will ask about "Armenian G*nocide", i would say don't look at the topic just from *one side* . Also search about it on Turkey's parliaments official site, archives & documents. What they call the "Armenian Genocide", we call it "Deportation (Tehcir)".

The term caucasian is used for yt ppl in the US however Caucasian ppl aren't white. Actual caucasians are ppl from the Caucasus region of west asia, they are culturally and genetically west/central asian not European or yt.

Democracy isn't always the ideal system especially when the people of that country haven't historically supported it.
Caucasian refers to the people of the caucus mountains eg. Armenia Georgia and Azerbaijan. People just use Caucasian to call white people, I don’t know why
I agree with about the monarchy in the UK however the monarch has no power over the UK and can’t influence the country’s laws or government so it doesn’t bother me if they are not elected or chosen by the people
14:29 yes Ilham Aliyev is a very great guy he basically changed Azerbaijan for good making it kind of like the next Dubai. Not only him starting to change the architecture to modern, him spending 2x amount of the military budget on our military and taking back our old lands back is the reason why all Azeris love him. Well 90% right now some still hate him and some haters now love him so yeah.

Azerbajiani-Armenian conflict goes way back and sasly intensified in the modern day, since this video is from 2019 it couldn't cover the recent 2021 war between armenia and azerbajian that caused lots of destruction in the nagorno karabakh region, azeri are really close to the turks of turkey and both countries tried in many occasions to get rid of the entire armenian country. During ww1 the turks slaughtered 1.5 million armenians in what would be known as "the armenian genocide"

16:09 Azerbaijan and Armenia have fought over Nagorno Karabach countless times and many massacres have taken place of the armenian population in the region. It also doesn't help that Azerbaijan is closely allied with Turkey, who to this day deny the armenian genocide.
If one looks into the history of most countries, there will be at least one thing that makes you angry, sad, and maybe even feel sick. Even the less controversial countries. It's still okay to like parts of their culture though. Like, I love a lot of what Israel or Russia delivers in Eurovision, so I let the artist be their own person separate from where they were born. Sure, they are sent to the competition to represent a country, but they are also their own people representing the people inside those countries.
It is okay to stand by Azerbaijan in Eurovision, it's supporting a creator, not just the country. It can be important to sometimes consider if you want a country to host the next competition though, especially if you know that the country might forcefully move people from their homes or overwork them just to look cool for the hosting.
