I had to bend one of the grommet tabs a tad to get it to snap in.

Hello! Ours lined up exceptionally well… but John uses “finesse” to pop on and off. I do agree that the tabs are quite snug… so I wash the bikes… and then I have John to help me put back on. 😅

On the Goldwing and the Can-Am Spider, some of the plastic panels are held on with similar grommets I use a silicon lube. Makes easier to remove and reinstall while protecting the rubber.
