How can you save over $2000 dollars? Install this headlight protector from SRC Motorsports. It is easy to install and is removable for easy cleaning of your headlight. It is well worth the money spent!

Dude... no way!! I bought this headlight guard (and a kickstand sensor & radiator guard) from SRC Moto a couple weeks ago and just opened it up to install....but I'm mechanically challenged and am not sure how to mount it. I googled for instructions and just found this. I should have checked your channel first!! =) Looks like we have the same farkles for the same bike LOL.
I paid less than $5000 for my new G310GS. The headlight assembly is over 40% of the value of the entire bike? No wonder insurance companies scrap motorcycles with seemingly superficial damage.
I thought about cobbing up my own headlight protection or buying a clear polycarbonate shield, but that $130 SRC Moto headlight protector looks pretty sweet. Being able to pop it off and back on without tools to clean behind it is a very worthwhile feature. This looks like a quick and simple farkle upgrade.
While those two M5 screws are out, I'd recommend twisting the headlight assembly out of the beak, disconnecting it, replacing the two rubber mounting bushings with large stainless fender washers and reinstalling the headlight, now without the annoying flicker from the rubber mounting. The LED headlamp doesn't require shock mounting as the original (2020 and earlier) halogen headlight bulbs do. That flickering headlight is very distracting at night. My brain kept interpreting it as a stationary headlight and some objects in my periphery moving, forcing me to constantly take my attention from the road ahead of me to avoid phantom animals darting into the road that were nothing but flickering headlight shadows. After constant false alarms, my brain ignored the flicker so any actual animals darting into the road would have been ignored too, and even then, the flickering would trigger epilepsy in anyone even remotely susceptible.
It is worth the money for the SRC product. it's amazing and fits perfectly.
Amazon is currently listing a $129 aftermarket LED headlight assembly.
I know it's expensive, but it is super bright and doesn't bounce around. like the earlier model
Shoot...now I know why I was confused. I didn't get anything to fasten that bottom piece onto the guard! I have the piece but not whatever is supposed to connect it. Looks like two plain washers and two hex socket buttonheads? Ugh. I'm going to call SRC Moto now and ask them to send those pieces. How annoying!
yes it is a hex bolt. it's a nice guard!
