    • @draw2death421
      @draw2death421 Před rokem +7

      Speaking of the worm Snake. That too is technicly a reused asset. In DS3 there was suposed to be a Huge puss of man Serpent where Iudex is. However nothing but Mentions of it exist in the code. They probably had the idle animation done and then decided to add it in Elden Ring.
      Same with Red Wolf of Radagon. That Was also in DS3. He was suposed to apear in Abyss Watchers boss fight. A Cutscene and model are the only things remaining tho you can find him in game. Hes the Old wolf of farron that gives you the covenant now so he wasent entirely scraped.

  • @logannsif
    @logannsif Před rokem +9

    This is the one kind of developer I don't mind reskinning or reusing assets they worked hard for, and paid for. Just do them sparingly, and do your best to keep actions fresh. Nobody cares about a reskinned encounter like they do with a totally NEW experience

    • @draw2death421
      @draw2death421 Před rokem +7

      Yeah i like it. Reskins dont bother me. Lack of Variety does.
      One reason i wasent a huge fan of GOD OF WAR was because the enemy variety was just so bland... and bosses were 60% trolls.
      Now Games Like Nioh 2 or Monster Hunter re use assets or enemies from the previous game and add on to them stuff and then put them in the game adding way more variety and Spice to the game with more time to add on to other aspects of the game.
      Im allready getting tired of Sons of the Forest due to that game having little enemy variety. But if they decided to add in enemies from The Forest in it then id probably be playing it still lol.

    • @warcoder
      @warcoder Před rokem +5

      Honestly, I would have loved if they had recycled more enemies from previous games to spice things even further. The giant warriors from ds1 and ds2, the ghost from New Londo and the Undead Crypt, the drakes from drake valley, the katana skeletons from demon's souls and maybe some weird things from bloodborne (I haven't played it, but from what I've seen, it has a lot of cool creatures)

      then why calling it "the greatest games ever" when they have their flaws as the other companies ?
      why calling it "new ips and sequels" when they are reskinning , redoing , reusing ,recycling and copying things from unrelated series and put it shamelessly in the game when they should not because it is a "new ip" so it shouldn't use something already used (in case of being the supposed "new ip") or doing the same thing again and transforming it to the next part while being ripped directly without a single change to justify the sequel being a sequel (because he does things differently and new which doesn't exist in from shitware games except for ds2) ?
      praising them for what exactly ?
      for doing the same bad thing trillion time but beating the shit out of other companies when doing the same wrong act they did like them and didn't get touched because they have big community ?

      1: Have you ever heard of paragraphs, my gamer?
      2: Fromsoftware can reuse as many npc skeletons and player animations as they want if they still pump out great games. I for one have never thought of Elden Ring as "the greatest game ever" or anything close, though I know some do.
      That being said, Fromsoftware have found a niche they can do well. No game is perfect, but Fromsoft are able to pull off the 3rd person action rpg really well. Maybe their games arent visually groundbreaking in the graphics department, and maybe they reuse some surface level stuff to make the production faster. But they continue to make FUN games that lots of people enjoy, without comprimising on their vision of what their games should be.
      And by the way, the only things being "ripped directly" are things like player animations, of which only some are completely identical. Theres no need to reinvent a perfectly good wheel that doesnt need changing. When that time can be better spent doing something else.

    Honestly, I'd make a joke about how Fromsoft just reuses assets from older games and calls it "content" for $60 or more, but I unironically I'm fine with that only with them.
    There's something about building up from the older games and (hopefully) using the best parts from them in the more recent releases. Like From is continuously learning and building from the past. Sometimes they do it right and players enjoy it while recognizing them, and other times they don't and it's a miss. All part of the deal, I guess. ^^

      @Віталій Козловський clearly you don't. Or you watch countless people talk about the problems with them and say to yourself
      "I'm better"
      And pretend nothing is wrong.
      There's so many arguments on why Margit/Morgott holding his staff up indefinitely to hit you is stupid. Why a boss combo having a chance to do a quick and punishing follow up is unfun or discourages played attack. Or why the rhythm break of bosses makes them feel weird. All of that because Fromsoft want to break away from their turn based system they had before. It's fine and we all adapt to it obviously, but that doesn't mean it's not a clear staple of the game and special exception like the tree avatar don't stick out

    • @user-fq1oo9gl2n
      @user-fq1oo9gl2n Před rokem

      @@Moon_Sushie your little rant proves that you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.
      Attacks with long windups are punish windows or opportunities for repositioning. ER bosses don't "have a chance" to extend their combos. Thay react to players positioning.
      Example: Margit's daggers designed to punish player, if he tries to attack him after certain attacks. It's not "random".
      With this in mind, you can manipulate boss' combos and create multiple openings for you to attack. When you actually learn every follow up and every combo string, you can reach a flow state that Imho is far superior to basic dodge-roll of previous souls games. I myself enjoy fighting Morgott more than even Gael.
