How to make 12 volt High Power Heating Element | Nichrome Heater Wire | DIY 12v DC Heater Wire

- In this video i am going to make a high power 12 volt dc heating element. A nichrome wire is used as a heating element in this design. This heating element is specifically design for 12 volt applications. The design of this 12v dc heater wire is done with the help of ohms law. The method i used in making this heating element is consists of.
1) Selection of nichrome heater wire of maximum gauge available.
2) Calculation the resistance of nichrome wire by using ohms law.
3) Finding the right length and number of nichrome wires to twist them
to get required amount of high current flow in it.
4) Twisting four lengths of nichrome wires with each other to get single
thick piece of wire.
5) Connecting the terminals of heater wire with thick gauge of copper
wire for connections.
6) Shaping the nichrome wire as heating element for final use.
7) Testing and verifying the current consumption of 12v DC heater wire.

Dear Wahaj, impress for your techniques, awesome. but have a little question. instead of 1 ohm and 4 pieces of wire, is it possible we can use 2 ohm and 8 pieces of wire to make same 0.25 R (just to increase the length of the wire.) possible ?
If you increase the length and dia of heater wire and keep its resistance same, it will not red hot at same amount of current like it before.

Good work. where did you get the 50 Amps from in your calculations.? I have a laptop power supply : output is : 12 volt, 3 Amps. which mans12/3 = 4 ohms
I used very thin wire, but still the powersupplyy gets warm, not hot,, is this normal?
Calculations done according to server power supply current of 50 amps. And sorry i didn't understand your second query.
The power supply is getting warm because it is producing almost it's maximum power.
The power supply he has is much bigger from a server..

If generator motor is 220v ac, then by using step down transformer 220v to 12v ac of atleast 55 ampere.

It depends on the battery but it can hurt the battery if voltage goes below the recommended low voltage... You need a big power bank.

Yes but use same formula i do not recommend you to do this as there are losses in the wire so your volt remain 2 oor 3 volts
