    I love this Japanese style of bookbinding, it definitely looks pretty. The only two downsides are that you lose a significant part of your paper (especially since I love making pocket size notebooks) and they don't lay flat. Thanks for making this tutorial though, it's much appreciated.

      @@nurfatehahsawpi4037 thank you very much for your reply. May you tell me what is the size of the hole on the book (1mm, 2,5mm?) and the size of your the thread you are using? I was thinking about buying a 0,65mm) thread but I am afraid is too thick... Again, thank you.

    • @nurfatehahsawpi4037
      @nurfatehahsawpi4037  Před rokem

      @@whysoseriousiamnot9772 no worries. The thread i that used was a 1mm waxed thread and the hole size is 3mm slightly bigger than the thread, so that the thread are able to go through the hole few times.

    can we use cartilage sheets to make a drawing notebook with similar technique

    • @nurfatehahsawpi4037
      @nurfatehahsawpi4037  Před 3 lety

      Do you mean cartridge paper? It could be use with this technique but i think it will be a little bit hard for you to draw since your book cannot be opened flat, the spine will always jut out.

    What materials and tools did you use in this video?

    • @nurfatehahsawpi4037
      @nurfatehahsawpi4037  Před rokem

      Hello, for the material I used copier paper for pages, brown craft paper for the covers, waxed thread, and some washi tapes. For the tools I used paper trimmer, japanese wooden screw punch, single hole paper punch, and paper clips.

      For the cover I used brown craft paper and for the pages are just copier paper and I print those lines by myself.
