I said once and said before: reactions like these would be better with a third person explaining things they don't understand.

Yep. To see them figuring out the game is more prevalent with these experts than others. It takes away from what they are experts about.
This. Raw reactions are nice, but seeing them confused and not able to apply their expertise isn't much fun.
I don't see how that would add anything. What other information do they actually need to know about the game that would meaningfully change their commentary?
@@hugomendoza5665 I mean, every now and then they comment stuff like "Oh, I don't understand why they did it that way/Oh, I don't know why everything is square/Oh, I don't understand why the style is greek or whatever in this age" and so on, so I guess someone fairly knowledgeable would be an asset.
Oh, it's me! I found this video just 3 weeks after it was posted, and well... I'd like to point out a few things.
My goal isn't to create fantastic and realistic builds because my audience wants something they can build too and this greatly limits the size and level of detail. My goal is to make the tutorials easy to follow, relaxing and aesthetically pleasing.
Despite the criticism, I understand that for those unfamiliar with the game, the builds may not make much sense from an architectural point of view.

Don't take it personally, they were hired to look at and comment on architecture, and that's what they did.
As you said, they dont have any idea what Minecraft is like but they are quite sharp and could deduce a few things not many of us would in the same situation.
They need context. They seem confused on the lack of creativity but dont understand the legit limitation of it.
Either show them better, more ambitious builders (like Andyisyoda, Bluenerd or TrixyBlox), move onto Valheim or give them at least a little context about Minecraft severe limitations and why people need to squish their creative minds to create nice looking structures, because we are not getting anything from their condescending professional viewpoint.

They should know the rules of the game. how things work.
And why not look at people like andyisyoda, or many of the hermitcraft server. they blow these builds out of the water.
Consider getting some architects that are more familiar with games. They seem to talk down to the minecraft creations which isn't fun to listen to.

They seemed to focused on the process of getting there. Less in the end result.
Which I think is what people are thing for this type of reaction.
Seeing what people end up designing not so much the order they building it.
Mine craft is yeah blocks or Lego or like sculpting with clay/sculpturing in general.
ok, I get it, they are real life architects etc. They can't seem to look outside the box (literally) and see the artistic side of the game. The giant builds that are drawing your eye away from the blockiness of minecraft. And it isn't easy to do that. Yet in person they expect all of us to look outside the box for their art and architecture.
They have zero clue on how much talent, dedication and time it takes for these builds.
I wonder how these 2 would react to the Pokémon gyms over the years 🤔

I remember seeing these architects reacting to Minecraft builds while back, glad that they’re watching these again, is this like reupload or existing video that recently happened this year?
They seem to talk and care more about the realisticness of the game than the builds its self
They need to play this game for once. Somebody have to tell 'em how to play. That would be great.

these guys should react to Hermitcraft mega bases especially, Geminitay, Grian and Bdubs they would be mind blown, also they should maybe play the game themselves (recreate something in the real world to scale in Minecraft) to get more of an appreciation on how hard it is to make the build look realistic or how much easier it is not put something like a load bearing wall when you are making a house because then you have to double up and the outside becomes much bigger than the house should be
I would love to see more of these two, but maybe challenging them to brainstorm how they would recreate or draw inspiration from the builds they’re watching in their IRL design.

Bro minecraft is not a lego. Stop saying that. There is a huge difference between lego things and blocks. BLOCKS are blocks. And legos can be everyting and in every shape. But blocks can be only BLOCKS.

I like and enjoy the idea of a profesional architect taking their time to comment on our builds, but I see sometimes the comments don’t exactly project to us the way they might mean it, the game doesn’t contain real life físics no gravity, no movement, and everything keeps a pixel design, it’s the point of the video game. Everything built in the game is a model, a representative of what we invision what we see. We don’t start with columns because there isn’t a point since everything is held in place however this game can work as a trainer for design and modeling.

For everyone saying these guys are really looking down on the players; they are looking at this from a real-world engineering/building perspective. It seems to me that they are only pointing out that some of the processes or order of steps the players are taking aren't exactly how it would be done for real and that some of the builds are lacking proper structural integrity. Those things would be hard for the architects to look past as that is their profession and if they let something slip, bad things are likely to happen. That's why I think they're so focused on structure

Realistic this realistic that, this game litmitless creativity and they stuck with those words. This is not COD where use realistic concept but bend it in gameplay. I truly not enjoy this series. This is why Spec Ops are most famous and enjoyable bc they can both tune in both game and realistic side of the game.

I more so expected them to be critiquing the artistic creativity and overall aesthetical look of the builds rather than analyzing the realism of how it’s built? Like yeah, it’s a game. The whole point of these builds is focused on the aesthetics and simplicity of building, accessible to everyone. It was very disappointing to see professional artists invalidate this girl’s creativity and artistry just because it’s Minecraft.

dude this is mindcraft give them builds not just some basic constructs. plus they needed contex even withought the fact that you went to slow and early for them to get a clear picture of it

these adults forget why games are made, his is meant for kids too, this game doesnt force rules and strickt steps you are forced to follow, its for the players to have fun and do them
they dont know minecraft they just know its a game where people build big cool stuff so they judge thinking were ruining theyre feeld of work but they are actually ruining the game for future artists by talking shit without knowing minecraft or its evolution. the minecraft community will forever look down on them and future architects will turn theyre back on these people for bad talking the game that made them want to become architects in the first place.
Play the game before criticizing the builds, all of the builds are solid 7, 8 or 9 out of tens. I've played Minecraft for 6 years and only now am I on the level of these builders. Not to mention criticizing the process, really, that would be like saying that the Mona Lisa halfway through it's creation is ugly.

i amazed by the new vocabulary from this video, especially, preeninc, not so much with the continued annoyance of ball throughout this episode.
I understand everybody has bad days, but like dude take the L she clearly knows what she's talking about.
clearly contrasting architechture viewpoints, but preeninc was more and academic and steadfastly amicable to address constrast, and hence more productive in my opinion.
I may be overcritical because this channel is marketed to gamers and i am not into gaming so much as architechure.
at some point you think they would change the approach from realistic to artistic. 3 videos later and its kinna worst.
I can see why engineers and builders hate architects. These people are far too litiral,i think every single person in the world understands that building in minecraft doesn't reflect real physics.

She seems like she is trying to see deeper into what is happening and then compare and contrast that to real world architecture but he just belittles everything all the time because a video game isn't realistic. They also have no understanding that minecraft in it's basic form is extremely unrealistic by design and part of what is so creative about the builds they see is making it look more realistic. He's also completely hung up on the process. She is too a lot but she only makes a comment or two then moves on. He can only focus on how the building process is different. Like all the commentary on how foundation is put and then walls without framing them in and then adding things later or removing for doors and windows... that's drawing the blueprint because there is no blueprints in minecraft. When I did hand drafting in design school I also put in the entire wall and erased to put in doors. It's literally the same concept. I think the process of building in minecraft has more to do with drawing than construction cuz y'know, no physics.
If you're this early, then you just lost the game.
